Summary: I realize that not every shooter can be Halo. They don't all have to be Games of the Year, just simple and fast-paced fun. That being said, Darkest of Days has as much chance of winning an award as I do of finishing its excruciating campaign. If not for the XBOX 360 name on the top, it would be hard to call this bargain bin reject a game.
Summary: If the curiosity is more than you can stand, please...rent it first. I can't really think of anything good to say about this game. The graphics are ugly - I've seen games that looked better on the first xbox. The framerate is horrible considering the primitiveness of the graphics. The gameplay isn't much better. I can see elements of other (better) games have been lifted and re-used here. The time travel storyline was done to much better effect in Timeshift.
Summary: It had a great idea but was executed terribly. The dialogue is terrible, "Mother" annoys the H*** out of me. The enemies suck, even on hard, or should i say "with chest hair" difficulty. Having a weapon that shoots of 10 laser guided rockets at once while your enemies have ram rod rifles, well it's just not fair haha This game is extremely terrible and it's taking all of my will just to finish playing it.
Summary: I'll be upfront with you, I haven't played the full game through. I tried playing the demo and just after the enormous load time, i realized that this is a disgusting excuse for a first person shooter. I looked exasperatingly at my xbox 360 and was surprised not to see a nintendo 64 sitting on my entertainment center. Why might you ask? Let me answer by asking another question.... Have you seen the graphics on this game? They are embarassing at best.
Summary: The premis of this game is clever, pretty sweet, and a good try. Almost every fps fan wishes they could fight history's battles (Civil war, WW2, etc...) with the weapons of today and tomorrow, and this game delievers on that. However, this game makes everything else, an illusion. The graphics make it look more like the original xbox's than the 360's, and the frame rate sometimes makes the game look and feel like it's running a 1980's Apple computer with dsl dialup.
Summary: I bought this with high hopes and quickly found out I had wasted my money. I honestly don't know where to start with explaining all that is wrong with it. I had great difficulty with the fact that most of the action was at night and therefore was very difficult to see not only the enemies but everything and everything in general. I was always lost and trying to figure out what to do next.
