Dance Dance Revolution Universe Review

IGN Entertainment
9 February 2008
  • Conclusion: There’s tons of fun to be had within the confines of the ninety-dollar price tag that DDR: Universe carries. If you can pony up the cash and purchase that shiny new, Xbox 360, dance mat, then you’ll be in store for hours upon hours of dancing fun. There may be some presentational issues that need to be ironed out, and the quest mode feels like an unneeded addition, but for the most part Universe belongs among the dancing elite.

Dance Dance Revolution: Universe

GameTrailers
26 March 2007
  • Excerpt: There was a time not too long ago when the music genre was an oddity in the United States; when the mere existence of a game like Dance Dance Revolution Universe was so unique that you almost felt you had to check it out. And fans of the series? They were just happy to be able to play DDR without having to install warranty-voiding mod chips in their PlayStations. Oh, those were simpler times, but not necessarily better. Gladly, those days are over.

Expert Review

GameSpot
28 February 2007
  • Summary: Dance Dance Revolution is flying its flag over yet another game platform with DDR Universe, the first installment for the Xbox 360. The game comes with a decent dance mat and offers many of the same modes found in the DDR Ultramix games, which were released on the previous Xbox. With handy tutorial stuff for beginners and more than 70 songs to choose from, Universe is accessible to players of all skill levels.
  • Pros: Good-looking graphics, Decent variety of music, Plenty of interesting modes
  • Cons: Quest mode makes no sense on its own, and there's nothing in this package to help you understand it, No custom soundtrack support

Dance Dance Revolution Universe review (X360)

HonestGamers
27 February 2007
  • Excerpt: I’m a scientific marvel that was born with two left feet. To the casual observer, it may seem that I have two normal appendages--one left and one right--but I assure you that all it would’ve taken for you to believe my claim in the past was a quick Dance Dance Revolution session. You would’ve seen a bumbling fool tripping over his own limbs and very nearly falling to the floor something like two or three times a song.

Dancing Stage Universe

Looki.de
23 January 2008
