Summary: Crackdown features an amusing premise that /could/ make for a good game, but an extremely lazy approach to mission structure renders it little more than a sandbox novelty rather than something you will be desperate to play to completion. Diversions are largely pointless, and everything really just serves as a means to improve your stats; while it can be fun to throw cars around and leap between buildings, this just isn't rewarding enough without a more focused storyline...
Summary: After seeing this get great reviews in the press and being avaiable nice and cheap,i took the plunge and purchased it.More fool me. Basically?-It`s another sandbox/GTA clone, but with cartoony graphics and a super hero cop.No problems with that.sounded like a laugh. However, the simple fact is........the on-foot gameplay is ruined by the WORST camera system i have ever come across. It`s awfull. And since a large % of the game is based with you being on foot?.............
Excerpt: A strategy guide for a game like Crackdown is always going to be a difficult one to make. Traditionally, open world games tend to have guides that run into the hundreds and hundreds of pages, allowing for every single side-quest and extra bonus item found within the game. In the case of Crackdown, since most of your ability upgrades are actually done through normal play, very little needs to be devoted to this section of the guide.
Pros: Completing story mode is easy enough with this guide
Summary: Similar to grand theft auto but not as in depth and very repetitive Fun at first, but all you really have to do is run around and kill gang
bosses. By the end of the game you are rather bored with this as each boss seems
like the last. Your upgradable skills are fun and leaping around the city and driving in
cars that can jump and shoot is cool, but it all get tiresome quickly.
Conclusion: ...but lacks avery important aspect of any video game - decent gameplay! Great, you can run around in a free roaming environment, and shoot bad guys, and...er thats it!!? I think i’ll go and play ICO on my ageing PS2 instead.
Summary: Crackdown is fairly typical of the third person run/shoot/drive genre in all but one respect. Most games of this type (GTA, Saints Row) are split into three distinct parts ... Missions, activities and free roaming fun. Crackdown has the missions and the activities (sort of), but as far as the free roaming fun part goes, forget it.
Summary: Granted the game does allow you a large amount of freedom and the likes but it doesnt take away from the fact that this game will take you if your like me... five hours to complete the games sad excuse for a story line and level up your main skills to level 4. At which point the game becomes incredibly boring, the highlights of this game being the ability to pick up heavy objects and throw them, jump long distances and the optional street races.
Summary: I recently purchased an xbox 360 from amazon and decided it would be smart to take advantage of the offer to buy both Gears Of War and Crackdown for just £15 with the console. Don't get me wrong the deal is still an absolute bargain especially considering what a masterpiece Gears Of War is but I must say that after a few hours of gameplay Crackdown seems pretty awful. The graphics look nice, cartoony but nice none the less.
Summary: After playing the demo and full version of this I can only conclude that the Halo 3 Beta is the only reason why this game will sell. It is just anotehr bad GTA clone. The graphics are appauling and whatever that is they tried really did not work. The gameplay has about as much attraction as a bucket of dead fish. As far as I can see the only reason why this game may sell well is due to the Halo3 Beta which has to be included with it so that it sells.
Summary: Crackdown est un jeu tout "bête".
