Crackdown

True achievements
17 October 2010
  • Conclusion: All elements are loaded on the fly as you approach an area. It works incredibly well, making the game non-stop action and difficult to put down. The game play is completely over the top but is varied enough for it not to get dull. Great mindless fun!

Crackdown

Strategy Informer
3 January 2008
  • Conclusion: Crackdown overall won’t be delivering a deep story, but it does deliver unbound and unique fun in this crazy futuristic Pacific City. Leaping about, blowing or tossing stuff down the street, up a building, threw bad guys …crime fighting has never been so much fun.

  • Excerpt: Crackdown arrives on the Xbox 360 with much anticipation as it comes equipped with access to the Halo 3 beta. I must admit, access to the Halo 3 beta was my primary reason for pre-ordering the game.

Crackdown

Saving Progress
20 July 2007
  • Conclusion: The severe lack of depth in Crackdown pretty much destroys any chance that it might have for being a GTA-killer. But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t do some things much better. The environments work better and exploration is more fun.

GAMESQUAD

  • Conclusion: With some more work, Crackdown could have been a phenomenal game. It does such a fantastic job with the exploration aspects, that it is a shame the awkward combat action sticks out like a sore thumb.
  • Pros: Compelling level-up system; a great deal to explore in Pacific City; very attractive graphics.
  • Cons: Awkward combat scheme; lacklustre enemies; unremarkable multiplayer.

Crackdown Review

Xbox 360 achievements
24 June 2007
  • Conclusion: Despite unique achievements and an open world to do what you want in, there is literally no side missions in Crackdown. With a campaign that will last you anywhere from 12-20 hours, unless you really dig killing people over and over, the game can get stale rather quickly.
