Condemned: Criminal Origins Review

IGN Entertainment
9 February 2008
  • Conclusion: Gamers who think they have the nerve to play a terrifying game in the middle of the night, with the lights off, should give Condemned a try. If anyone manages to play this one in a dark room without jumping out of their seats or looking over their shoulder, has nerves of steel. Condemned is a great effort and easily the best looking first-person melee game we’ve ever seen.

Condemned

xboxachievements.com
9 July 2007
  • Conclusion: A short single player game and a non-existent multiplayer means you could potentially knock this game out in a weekend, if not a single day. Clever achievements provide some incentive to revisit the game but a completely linear story means there is little or no reason to replay the campaign rather than to get both endings, though the Propaganda Reports do add slightly to the experience.

Condemned: Criminal Origins

GamersHell.com
3 July 2006
  • Excerpt: While it’s interesting to play your favorite sports game or a cool shooter on your 360 just because the graphics are much improved, this hasn’t stopped some developers from creating exclusive titles that aren’t ports. One such release is Condemned: Criminal Origins, which puts you in the shoes of agent Ethan Thomas in his struggle against the FBI, strange addicts, and himself.

Condemned: Criminal Origins

media-assault.com
6 March 2006
  • Excerpt: When was the last time a videogame scared you? Before playing Condemned: Criminal Origins , I had to think back to playing Resident Evil 2 on the PSOne and that, I tried to convice myself, was just a matter of being unprepared. While playing Condemned , I vowed it wouldn't scare me. I had all the lights on, the volume wasn't turned up too high, and the fact that I was playing a game was going to keep me from being scared. It didn't work.

Condemned: Criminal Origins Review

Strategy Gaming Online
31 January 2006
  • Excerpt: Condemned is the first, and so far, only horror game available for the Xbox 360. Veteran PC developers Monolith went on a big horror kick, with two separate teams making F.E.A.R. for the PC and Condemned for the 360. While my thoughts on F.E.A.R. are well-documented, I'll say that I enjoyed Condemned quite a bit more.

Dark, Twisted and Brilliant!

Britxbox
14 July 2007
  • Conclusion: Imagine a nightmarish world where violent crime, beatings, murder and death are on every street corner, a world so dark and twisted that even the most evil serial killers on the loose are being hunted by one sadistic, murderous man who kills these murders the same way they kill their innocent victims. Now, imagine being the man charged with stopping it all. Sega's Condemned: Criminal Origins puts you in that mans shoes.
