Excerpt: Condemned: Criminal Origins Published by: Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment Developed by: Monolith ESRB: M for Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Strong Language For: Xbox 360 and PC I’ve played some pretty frightening games during my time, Resident Evil 4 being perhaps the most frightening and The Suffering being the most psychologically disturbing. Condemned trumps both of them.
Condemned: Criminal Origins - Game Accessibility Review
24 August 2010
Excerpt: Visuals: Condemned is a very dark game with a very dark and grey color palette. Although the game has a brightness control that can be adjusted at any time during the game, it can still often be hard to see even with perfect eyesight. Additionally, this game lacks another feature that many other dark games have; something that calls your attention to items that can be picked up.

World Series of Poker: Tournament of Champions Review

Conclusion: Poker video games thrive on offering players as much poker as possible, not necessarily good poker (good as in the level of competition, not in how it’s portrayed). Certainly, WSoP: ToC is a solid game from that standpoint. The next step that game makers need to take is improving and varying the AI challenge, so you get realistic competition that’ll test your skills at adapting and “changing gears” so you can succeed against a wide range of gameplay styles.

Conclusion: Gamers who think they have the nerve to play a terrifying game in the middle of the night, with the lights off, should give Condemned a try. If anyone manages to play this one in a dark room without jumping out of their seats or looking over their shoulder, has nerves of steel. Condemned is a great effort and easily the best looking first-person melee game we’ve ever seen.
Excerpt: Games such as Silent Hill and Resident Evil have already placed themselves in the hall of Survival Horror “greats.” What could Condemned possibly do that “The Suffering” and “Siren” could not?
