Conan Xbox 360 Review

Console Obsession
30 May 2010
  • Excerpt: As this is the Xbox 360 version of Conan that we tested, obviously it comes included with an achievements list. Take a look at this achievement list and you’ll realise that may of them involve you having to do nasty things to your enemies. Now whoever said you got points for killing enemies in the most gruesome way imaginable in regards to Rockstar’s Manhunt may have been wrong, but they certainly would have been correct if they had said the same for the gore bath that...

Game Over Online
22 September 2008
  • Excerpt: Some marketing brainiacs out there love a widely recognizable license to work games around more than anything, but as source material goes Conan is a little past its freshness date. The original books were written in the 1950’s and even the Conan movie staring The Governator is a quarter century old. So why are we getting a Conan game for the holidays this year? Who knows? Who cares?

  • Conclusion: However on a different note, it’s nice that the game includes some light puzzle-solving and time-calculated platform challenges; these provide great variant to the combat-heavy system. There are combo upgrades and the ability to wield different kinds of weapons; these keep the action fresh and particularly engaging.

Conan Review

VideoGamer.com
6 August 2008
  • Excerpt: " Is that the new God of War game? " asks a visitor to the office last week. " No ," I reply. " It's the Conan game. It does look a lot like God of War though ." For anyone who knows their video game characters, the differences between Kratos and Conan are huge, but throw the game in front of a part-time gamer and the reaction is to be expected.

Conan

True achievements
6 May 2008
  • Conclusion: One bit of advice would be to try to make it into the battle with a full health meter or you may have to go back to the previous save--the Serpent Queen and Bone Cleaver II will wipe your health out very quickly if you're not careful. So I played it through on normal, hard, then King levels, unlocking the cheats as I went--except the weapon mastery cheat. Don't unlock this one until you hammer through the weapon mastery achs or they won't pop (I think).

  • Excerpt: 'Swords speak louder than words' proclaims the tagline for Conan from THQ. Well, words are all we have to tell you about the game, along with a few images. Note that neither words nor pictures could possibly relay the brutal and visceral action contained here. Oof! Conan's thirst for adventure and gold leads him to Balmoria, an island in the far western seas.
