Colin McRae: DIRT 2 Xbox 360 Review

Console Obsession
29 May 2010
  • Excerpt: You wouldn’t know that Colin McRae: DiRT 2 was developed by a British developer: it’s headlined by a group of American drivers (Ken Block, Travis Pastrana, Dave Mirra and Tanner Faust) and the presentation is way overdone, so much so that it’s over the top. Codemasters are obviously aiming to make an impact in the American market as this sequel is even more Americanised than the original.

True achievements
21 March 2010
  • Conclusion: This gets old fast- but if any of you remember the 200 miles driven achievement from the original Dirt- finishing the game and all its events is a matter of endurance over fun. To sum up my in a minute review, Dirt 2 is a highly recommended rental or a buy if you can finish it and flip it while it's still new. It is a quality product and has lots of style and personality.

Dirt 2 Review

AtomicGamer
3 November 2009
  • Excerpt: For over a decade now, the Colin McRae rally series has been a mainstay of the racing game genre. Originally developed in cooperation with legendary rally racer Colin McRae, the games started as more realistic rally sims, evolving recently into more accessible arcade-style racers. Sadly, we lost McRae in a fatal 2007 helicopter crash, but its latest incarnation, Dirt 2, does his memory good justice.

Colin McRae Dirt 2 Review

PlayDevil
22 October 2009
  • Summary: When you’re racing, " Dirt 2 " is a fantastic, rich experience, with beautiful visuals, pumping sound, and great AI. Also, the world tour is excellently presented, and the fact that you now get competitive multiplayer means there are some great updates over the first title that makes it fresh to play still.

  • Excerpt: There’s just something about rally racing that sets it apart from your standard racers. Perhaps it is the environments and lack of traditional tracks. Perhaps it’s the damage. Either way, Codemasters continues its Colin McRae rally franchise with DiRT 2 and I have to say that I am duly impressed with the final product.

Review: DiRT 2 (Xbox 360)

Gametactics
12 October 2009
  • Conclusion: Phenomenal presentation and great gameplay make this a great racing game. Forgiving enough for casual games but still enough challenge for the hardcore. Game modes are fun. Race tracks are varied and look nice. Sound is great but the playlist is a little on the short side. If you have any interest in racing, you owe it yourself to try this one out.
