Summary: I love RIDDICK. All the movies and all the games. Even if you don't, I think you can really enjoy these games. Two full single player games that are both fun. They are not perfect, but interesting that is for sure. The 1st game is a port, but it ports VERY well. The updated graphics look great. The 2nd game is brand new and equally as fun to play.
Summary: The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena offers great value with the inclusion of Escape from Butcher Bay on the same disk! Once again, Swedish developer Starbreeze Studios (the Darkness) delivers an engaging mix of stealth & combat fps gameplay with a character, story & setting-driven experience, putting you in the shoes of Riddick (played by Vin Diesel).
Summary: Dark Athena is worth buying just for the fact that Vin Diesel lent his voice to the game. You'll feel like Riddick is right over your shoulder (a terrifying thought, actually) as you stalk the shadows. Loads of fun!
Summary: In my opinion, Escape from Butcher Bay aged very well, and the reworked graphics are a real plus. The sequel, Assault on Dark Athena, is not as good as the first adventure, but not bad at all either. The truth is, this package is worthy for Butcher Bay alone, even for those who played it on the original Xbox.
Review – The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena
17 November 2009
Conclusion: Apparently this game started out as a very short expansion and was not intended to be a full game–with the sudden change of scope (from a few hours of gameplay to at least double or triple that, depending on who you read) the focus was summarily destroyed. That said, I still enjoyed it for what it was but, no, it wasn’t a classic like the first.
Summary: I played Escape from Butcher Bay a long time ago and absolutely loved it. Playing as the baddest character in the universe was something that just blew my mind. When i heard that a new remake AND expansion were coming out, I jumped for joy. Riddick easily competes with games like Halo and Gears of War because it is a fun game to play. The graphics amazed me when i first turned on the game, and truthfully, how many games let you see your feet and shadows.
