Almost Satisfies Mecha Cravings

mutosheep, Amazon
8 April 2014
  • Summary: Sega punches EA in the stomach repeatedly until evacuation. Good build choices for mobile suits, if limited in weaponry (NO LASERS!). Tedious missions sometimes and Japanesed mission rating system (S-F) along with nonsensical made up geo-political war story distract from the good game mechanics and almost simulator style mech game play. Decent game.

good old school game

Micah johnson, Amazon

  • Summary: Good game. I played mechwarrior which is like it years ago. Compared to the speed of the games now it is very slow lots of walking. The battles are good. If you are not a mechwarrior fan you probably will not like it.

Chromehounds was a fun run!

Gio, Amazon
2 February 2012
  • Summary: I remember the day I got Chromehounds (when I first got an xbox 360)! I had no idea what I was in for, because to be honest this game became my personal favorite. The whole clan cooperation, mech complexity, rankings and different regions you could permeate through made this game an amazing group experience!

Truly a great game with a terrible fate

M. Scott, Amazon
7 November 2011
  • Summary: This game WAS very good however there is really no point in reviewing it anymore since the online servers have been shutdown. Truly a sad fate for such a fun game. The single player is the only thing you can do in the game now, and to be honest it blows. It's boring and dull. There are many missions however the story is bland and you can only build with the parts the game gives you.

Great game...but

astartes82, Ebay

  • Summary: It is such a wonderful game, for those who love the mechwarrior, heavy gear, and armored core types. The only problem I found is that no one else really plays it anymore, making the online aspects a bummer.

Mecha on Par

azreal_the_fallen, Ebay

  • Summary: There are many mecha games in which there is something lacking, and this one remains true to the statement. This is a nice mix of Armored Core and Mechwarrior from From Software, who brought us the first one. If you go in expecting Armored Core you will be sadly mistaken. This game would be Armored Core when they were just starting to build giant machines of destruction.

good but not too great

ninjaontog123, Ebay
9 September 2008
  • Summary: It's a good game where you can build ACVs or the Hounds of this game. More like gundam in russianic slangs. But it lacks the free play engine where enemies will just come at you, but instead it deals with levels where you can fight stationary or moving enemies. The only good levels on this game are the last missions because they really give the thrill and excitement of the ACV that you made. OH yeah, did I say you can rename it and build a massive earth killing machine?

Fun mechgame

Rofldood , GameStop
17 August 2008
  • Summary: As far as it goes, robot based games are never really that different from each other but the other day i purchased chrome hounds and was surprised at the quality of game you get for ** dollars. It has around 40 missions for single player, (although the story is somewhat boring i.m.o), and all the parts that you earn for yourself in single player can be transfered over to multi-player along with any exp. you earned for a certain class.

Great, if overlooked Xbox 360 Mech sim

Felipe Breyer Jesus, Amazon
1 July 2008
  • Summary: To be completely honest, I Purchased this game because I loved the Mech Warrior games. Seeing as this was the closest thing to those games on the 360, I decided to give it a shot. I personally enjoyed this game quite a bit, though it has a pretty steep difficulty curve. If you have played any of the Mech Warrior games this should not be too different for you. The gameplay is basically the same, though slower than the Mech Warrior series.
