What. A. Travesty.

  • Summary: This is alot like mechwarrior.... If you take all the cool things about mechwarrior and either removed them ir significantly complicated them into a list of muddled messes... This game plays like a brain tumor. It just bad. The controls are awful... And even once you get used to them, the camera controls never seem intuitive or useful. The process if personalizing your mech... Sorry... Hound...

Chrome Hounds, Needs some polish

  • Summary: This game is great for fans of older games like Mech Warrior or Heavy Gear. They have taken the same idea and applied it to a slightly different version of our world, where everything has alien names. Learning to build the machines takes time, but can be fun for almost as long as it takes to master the skill. The main complaint I had with this game was that it's all scripted out, 5 missions in 5 different classes...after that it's over.

Still waiting for Mechwarrior on the xbox 360

Sean Murphy, Amazon
18 August 2007
  • Summary: Great graphics, nearly impossible to follow levels... They're not hard just it's hard to figure out what's next. very little help is given, you just end up restarting levels and heading off in different directions hoping to find what your supposed to do.

  • Conclusion: Fairly good graphics and the controls are easy to pick up. The gameplay isn't fast but you shouldn't expect that from a mech sim, weapon sounds and effects are good but the stuff they hit doesn't blow up very convincingly. The major downside of this game is that you really need either a HD TV or a large standard TV to be able to read most of the on-screen text, which is a problem if you've got your console hooked to a portable as a lot of your objectives are shown on...

Somewhat disappointed....

  • Summary: I know my mother taught me that if I didn't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all. But I figure I should due my civic duty and warn folks away from this game. In a word....BORING! I found myself trying to run around looking for action, usually to no avail.

From a Mechwarrior Fan

Crystal, Amazon
6 October 2006
  • Summary: I thought this game would be a blast to play because the concept is so good. As it turns out, I really don't like the game. Having to build a mech from scratch is pretty cool until you find out that it takes forever to get enough online "currency" to build a mech halfway powerful enough to take more than 2 hits from the mechs long time players have built.

"Mercenary, I order you to not like this game!"

SkipSpicy, Ciao
6 December 2007
  • Excerpt: ""Mercenary, thank god you came along. We were so worried our reviewer would shoot himself in the foot and dip it in a bucket of hydrochloric acid mixed with bits of glass and a property developer's 2nd hand tailored suit." "Mercenary, you must discover why there are developers out there without even an iota of intelligence to manage their scheduling and development team correctly, to avoid releasing a game of utter misery, my own mother would be ...

  • Conclusion: When i saw a preview of this game I thought that it look amazing, when i bought it however i was very dissapointed. Game play is soooo slow its frustrating, some missions are unclear and just annoying. on the plus side the graphics are good but still, not a great game!

Not really my thing

mastermind862, Play.com
13 August 2007
  • Conclusion: I've never really got into this game. I like the idea of building your own hound, but I discovered that pretty much everything is useless, unless you have a huge slow monster. The missions are repetitive and long. They have tried to use lots of tactics in this game, but it all seems pointless, as most of the time just charging in wildly is the best option. I couldn't find a proper UK-based squad online, and I had to change my side to find one.
