Summary: The problem definitely lies in the immersion. Although the story was initially captivating, I quickly lost my attention span. I was really looking forward to this game given the unique dynamics it brings to the genre, but ultimately, I came away disappointed.
Summary: Its not really a animated porn game if thats what you want. Just strong themes of romance and sexuality. the plot is pretty good, all the side stuff is great. this game changed how i view romance and taught me some good lessons. the game play is allright, its challenging and fun tho sometimes repetitive and frustrating. could have been made better though, just not enough game in there.
Summary: Real oddball game in more ways than one. Kinda wonder how Atlus' marketing team gave the ok for Catherine and if the gamble paid off. I'd say Catherine was made for an even more niche audience than jRPGs. I'm guessing the only reason Catherine got any attention at all is because the team behind Persona was involved in making it. Its really weird playing this game and hearing that jazzy peppy Persona 3&4 sounding music.
Pros: animated cut scenes. Excellent translation/localization. Intruiguing concept. Great voice acting. Weird. Grabbed it while it was on sale.
Cons: Story progression is disjointed and hapazard. Feels incoherent sometimes. Game is 95% puzzle 5% social interaction. The horrible loading times make me want to cry. Game is short Even on easy, game quickly gets way difficult way too soon. I couldn't pass the second boss without resorting to a guide.
Summary: If you're a grownup hardcore gamer looking for something new and different, I would highly recommend getting this game. The game has two major parts: the first portion consists of just talking to people and interacting with stuff in a bar, while the second portion happens in a dream world where solve climbing puzzles. [Good] Theme: I can't think of any mature games set in modern times that don't involve guns aside from Catherine.

Summary: The collector's edition extras were awesome, I haven't use the pillow case though as it seems a bit weird, and the shirt is a bit too big for me personally. The best part about it was the packaging though, being a pizza box from the in-game restaurant. While all this was great, I can't say that I was a fan of the gameplay. I enjoyed the bits outside of the dream world, and the cutscenes were great, I just couldn't get into the timed platforming.

Summary: I already did a full-on review of Catherine on the regular edition page. It's huge and goes into great detail. I ended up buying the "love is over" deluxe edition of Catherine that comes with a few extras, which is what I will review here in greater detail. If you want to know how awesome Catherine is, go read my review on the regular edition of Catherine.
It should be a masterpiece, an example of the incredible power of the medium..... but....

Summary: Gamers are no longer purely the type of people who devote hours to repetitive task in order to beat them. There is a large number of gamers who get joy from interactive tale, from story. From understanding the power of a malleable construct that can reflect parts of their lives. Catherine has a story that can do that, reflect on something important, personal, human.
