Conclusion: Call of Duty Black Ops is a welcome game in the COD franchise. From the great variety of multiplayer matches and perks that can be earned. The addition of Call of Duty points which can be spent on upgrades or even gambled with in contract and wager matches is a nice added feature. And if you tire of all these modes grab some friends and go kill some zombies.
Xbox 360 Review - 'Call of Duty: Black Ops' Annihilation Map Pack
1 July 2011
Summary: Call of Duty: Black Ops takes players behind enemy lines in an entirely new chapter in the first-person action series. Black Ops is set during the Cold War era featuring at least two main characters, multiplayer that goes beyond the single-player story, and a two- to four-player co-op mode.
Excerpt: I like Treyarch. I really do. Considering they were given the arduous task of doing the 'other' Call of Duty games whilst Infinity Ward worked on the Modern Warfare series, they have constantly performed.
Pros: + Three excellent MP Maps, + The best zombie map/scenario yet
Excerpt: Activision is at it again, with another $15 five-map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops . This time, Treyarch is offering four dynamic outdoor heavy maps, and one very special zombie mission that involves an all-star Hollywood cast.
Excerpt: I'll admit to suffering from a case of Zombie Fatigue. The "Zombies Make Everything Awesome" concept was great for a while, but it is starting to grow a bit tiresome. They're everywhere and, based on a couple of high profile releases coming down the pipeline in both film and videogames, it doesn't look like the final headshot will be scored on the concept anytime soon. I will, however, admit to having a soft spot for Call of Duty 's Zombies Mode.
Excerpt: Beautiful, detailed surroundings? Check. Engaging, compelling storyline? Check. Lots of frenetic multiplayer modes? Check. Awesome single player campaign? Check. Kitchen sink? Check. Call of Duty: Black Ops brings it, seriously. If you are a fan of the series and are hoping for the next great shooter to come in the form of the latest iteration of the Call of Duty series, you've found it here. Never has the world of Call of Duty been so colorful and beautiful.
Excerpt: A few years ago when many people, including myself, were getting somewhat tired of first person shooters, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare came along and rejuvenated the whole experience. Both the single player and online experience were quite a thrill ride. For months on end I could not put the game down. One year later, Treyarch’s Call of Duty: World at War touched down with a big splash but it was nowhere near the tidal wave that Modern Warfare provided.
