The game is played by many players. It is a war one rages on in the fourth edition of Activision’s acclaimed war game. For the first time in the series, Call of Duty moves away from WWII to the modern battlefield.

While playing it must be armed with an arsenal of advanced and powerful modern day firepower, players are transported to treacherous hotspots around the globe to take on a rogue enemy group threatening the world. In fact, as both a U.S Marine and British S.A.S. soldiers are fighting through an unfolding story, which are full of twists and turning. Herein, players use sophisticated technology, superior firepower and coordinated land and air strikes on a battlefield where speed, accuracy and communication are essential to victory. Also the epic title delivers an added depth of multiplayer action providing online fans an all-new community of persistence, addictive and customizable game play.

Review Summary

The Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is available on ps3, Xbox 360 and pc and what’s more is that each version is different from the other. This game conveys good frame rates and has good and easy-to-use multiplayer setups. In many ways, some players feel that it resembles these same features on Halo 2 & 3, by even having matching playlist. Players are allowed to create servers that allow up to 18 players to play at once but due to the size of its multiplayer maps, too many players might make it seem a little crowded. Lovers of this game will basically buy this game based on the controller they like the most as they all work just fine. The game’s multiplayer mode is like a hidden treasure waiting to be unlocked. High-quality story mode is such which create the thrills and unexpected moments to its players. Much to the sadness of its players, the single-player mode is so short-lived. But players who don’t appreciate great first-person shooter multiplayer should honestly skip this game. The quality of its content in the campaign is top notch while its multiplayer is the best around. In other words, the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is a truly superb package.

I have never been a big fan of call of duty. The campain mode is not the greatest. Either is Co-op. But Call of Duty 4 brings it all back together with its amazing graphics not to mention the stunning and incredibly addicting online play. THIS GAME IS A MUST HAVE! Read more

I must be the only person who doesn't see the true greatness of COD4. Personally, I think 2 was far better, with graphics nearly as good, multiplayer that was pretty much as good, just 8 player rather than 16, and frankly better and better balanced gameplay. The difficulty spikes in COD4 are just insane, reducing parts of the game to an irritating grind that leave a bad taste in the mouth. High difficulty is ok, but veterans of COD2 and 3 will breeze through most level... Read more

Your heart is pounding and the sounds of gunfire can be heard ominously hanging in the air around you. A fleet of aircraft whiz overhead dropping bombs on your current location and the only thing you can do is rush to the nearest building for shelter. If you have played Call of Duty 4, you know all too well the rush and excitement that comes with it. The feeling that you have been plunged straight into a modern battlefield where you are a soldier suited to your liking. Read more

I keep playing Call of Duty 4.  The more I do, the more I’m certain there must be something distinctly wrong here.  After all, Infinity Ward has spent so much of their brief life tinkering around in the World War II era.  When it came to Axis, Allies, Thompsons, and Garands, they were the pinnacle.  So when the company announced that Call of Duty 4 would be subtitled Modern Warfare and take place in recent times, the game shouldn’t have been this good. Call of Duty 4 is one of the few games of 2007 that unquestioningly delivers—on all fronts—despite huge expectations. With only a few minor negative issues, the game does little to frustrate. Starting with a believable campaign, Call of Duty 4 brings together a solid multiplayer experience, proven gameplay style, and all the intangibles into a beautifully rounded game that we will be playing for a long time. Call Of Duty 4 is one of the best games of 2007. Stunning graphics fluid natural feeling controls help to immerse you in a surprisingly deep and exiting story, which despite not being all that long still feels fleshed out and lacks the usual drab sections other games use to pad the length. There are some sections of the game that are pretty darn difficult when played through on medium difficulty so do expect to be challenged. The Multiplayer experience ranks up there ... Read more

I didn't buy this game when it first came out; instead I waited a month. Then all of a sudden I went on circuitcity.com and that's when I saw it, and bought it ofcourse. The game is amazing from the start to the end. You kind of get the feeling that you are there actually in action. Read more

When will developers realise that not everyone wants to play online? Personally I prefer to get immersed in a good single player campaign. This game has blatantly been developed with online play as the main priority. The single campaign last a pathetic 4-5 hours. You could finish this easily in one good sitting. For someone who has no internet connection and has spent £40 for a 5 hour campaign, this is very por value. It's a shame because the game itself is excellent,... Read more
