Overlooking certain flaws, Borderlands ultimately delivers what players are bound to expect from it - pure and addictive RPG-flavored FPS action, extremely engaging co-op and altogether a vast and mysterious world waiting to be explored. Gearbox made a great foundation for potential DLCs and sequels. We only hope that the next installment brings more substance, with a richer history of Pandora, additional work poured into some of the characters and generally a more... Read more

Borderlands has all in all become a decent end-of-the-year RPG with enough innovative elements and a unique look. It's not as well worked out on all points (inventory management, player classes), but due to a lack of competition it has become a top title for fans of the genre. Unfortunately the difficulty, the too strict leveling system and too limited freedom give some opposition. Read more

The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned is the first installment in what will hopefully be a long line of downloadable content for the highly enjoyable Diablo -esque FPS, Borderlands . This Halloween-themed zombie-laden DLC is here just in time for... Thanksgiving?!?! Okay, so maybe it seems a little late (or very early for next year), but zombies are always in season as far as I'm concerned. You could almost think of this as a Left 4 Dead mod for the game. There are a lot of... Read more

"Borderlands" is a game which has somewhat crept under the pre-Christmas radar and thanks to it’s stunning presentation and excellent multiplayer and RPG elements is a title well worth owning. Read more

  5. Borderlands: The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned

    Reviewer: GameSpot
    25 November 2009

The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned is a nicely distilled slice of Borderlands that bodes well for future DLC potential. The dramatic moments that are fairly strung out in the main game happen with invigorating regularity. And the flashes of comedy are much more frequent, giving the action a lively, entertaining vibe. From voice recorders chronicling the exploits of unsuccessful zombie hunters, to the casually maniacal hilarity of Dr. Ned, to heartbreaking Claptrap-on-Claptrap... Read more

First off, if you like Halo 3, Fallout 3, Fable 2 and Mass Effect, then you'll love Borderlands. It's got everything you want in a game; tons of guns, places to discover, enemies to destroy, cool boss battles, vehicles, ranking system, and lots of variety. What makes this game so fun is the fact that the world your in seems endless, there's so many places to go and there's always some awesome gun you find around the corner. I've also had a chance to play it on Xbox Live... Read more

Borderlands is, in my opinion the best game of 09' because the campaign is awesome by yourself or with a partner. but 4 player co-op is the best. plus this game has about over 100,000 weapons, minumum and each of the guns are freaking amazing. with guns like electric rockets, acid shotguns, flaming snipers and more. plus if ur a RPG fan u will like this game as well because you chose one of 4 classes which each have a unique ability some are like better accuracy with all... I'm somewhat picky when it comes to video games. I found it funny when one review said, "picky gamers: beware." I was going to rent a simple-minded first-person-shooter this weekend. I was actually looking to rent Modern Warfare - a game that basically requires no creativity whatsoever and is nothing more than a simple "point and shoot" affair. I wanted MW because I was going to do some online gaming with a good friend and we generally enjoy different types of games... Read more

Looking back on this game it was a good experience. The first time I played through this game I loved it everything about it was fun. The visuals were cool and unique the coop is a blast. But once you beat the game you will begin to notice its flaws. The first is the life in this game. Outside of coop mode you begin to feel like it is a world against you. The civilians in this game have next to no interaction with you just basically giving you a menu then do this. Which... Read more
