Summary: Good game. Simple, relatively realistic and enjoyable. Only flaws are the typical game "lock-out" structure of denying certain aircraft until a certain level of points and the fact that every enemy airplane and anti-aircraft gun aims at you (typical of games but not of real world operations where opposing fighter pilots and anti-aircraft gunners have a very difficult job seeing and selecting targets). "Big sky - little airplane" as we say in the business.
Summary: I got this game for my grandson. He really enjoys the airplane shooting games involving the slower moving propeller driven aircraft as opposed to the faster jet aircraft games, and such games help him with his hand eye coordination. Birds of Steel seemed to be highly recommended for its more up to date graphics and realism, factors I thought would help hold his interest.
Summary: I delayed getting this as I read reviews indicating you would need to be a pilot in order to enjoy it. I am not a pilot, not even close, but I do enjoy it. So much in fact, I purchased a flight Stick to enjoy it even more. So far, I have not ventured off the 'simplified' level but as I keep learning the closer I get. If you like combat-flight games this one is for you.
Summary: Bought this game a couple months ago and im still enjoying to the max.The only reason I bought this is I was looking for something as indentical to HEROES OF THE PACIFIC and this didnt dissapoint, offcourse its not as perfect as H.O.T.P. but this is as close as I gotten to it Detailed planes and each plane has its on set of machine guns or cannons or even both and the sound is excellent.
Summary: Fun to play, can be difficult if your in simulator mode. Nice that it have various difficulty levels for players of all capabilities. Lots of planes and challenges. I especially like the free flight when you test fly a plane, nobody shooting at you till you go into combat and learn to control the plane.
