  • Excerpt: Visuals: Bioshock is a dark game over all, mainly to create atmosphere for the player. However, it does have the player set the brightness at the beginning of the game to make sure that the player can see the right amount of details. The brightness can also be adjusted through out the game. This game also offers “Art Subtitles” that can be turned on if the player so chooses.

BioShock 2 - Not great for Many Gamers

ablegamers.com
25 February 2010
  • Excerpt: The modes in this game weren't created equally. Multiplayer is more accessible than single player, especially when it comes to the color blind gamer. To start off, Deaf gamers should have no problem with this game at all. All the audio tapes, PA announcements, and dialogue can be subtitled, and a lot of the things that have audio cues also have some sort of visual cue as well. Such as when a camera spots you, it starts to make a noise, as well as begins to turn white.

Ratchet & Clank: The Quest For Booty

Square-Go
23 January 2009
  • Excerpt: Ratchet & Clank: The Quest for Booty (TQFB) is a 3D puzzle/action/adventure game that is set after the events of Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction (TOD) . Clank has been kidnapped by the Zoni and Ratchet, along with sidekick Talwyn from TOD , is off to rescue him. A new player may be off put by the amount of backstory but the game explains itself well and in an entertaining manner much like the rest of the series.

Bioshock 2: The Protector Trials DLC

Console Monster
14 August 2010
  • Summary: Despite only being a relatively recent feature, downloadable content has proved popular with developers and players in extending a game’s lifespan; whether it’s a simple map pack for the game’s online capabilities or a new in-depth storyline. Although the title only released in February of this year, Bioshock 2 has already received four sets of downloadable content, including the Sinclair Solutions Tester Pack, a new game mode: Kill ‘em Kindly, six new multiplayer maps...
  • Pros: First single player DLC for BioShock 2, Well designed and developed environments, 400 Microsoft Points price tag
  • Cons: DLC's concept only tolerable in short doses, A narrative-driven DLC would have been preferred, Can be completed within an hour or two

Expert Review

PEOWW
23 January 2010
  • Excerpt: First Person Shooter Please daddy, make it stop. Playing Bioshock 2 for the first time feels a lot like coming full circle. Not just for the story of the undersea city of Rapture and its plasmid filled denizens but also for Peoww as it was the first game we ever reviewed way back in November of 2007. So what’s changed in the two years since the first Bioshock?
