Summary: I've never been a fan of the Devil May Cry type of games, but this game is really really good. It's like the DMC series, but fun. They streamline everything that was "bad" in DMC. The combat is easy and fun to control, you never feel like you're just mashing on random buttons. There's a great sense of style in this game and it never takes itself too serious. Overall, just a great game to play if you're a fan of the character action games like God of War or Devil May Cry.
Summary: Bayonetta is definitely a peculiar game. I have to admit I was skeptical of the source material the first time I laid eyes on trailers and gameplay videos. But, I decided to try this game based upon some incredibly high reviews and a sale Amazon had a couple of weeks ago. Boy, am I glad I did. Bayonetta is an Umbra witch, who seems to have forgotten her past and is searching for "The Eyes of the World".
Summary: let me start by saying that i've played this game a lot. i've unlocked every weapon, accessory, etc. i've done every verse of every chapter, found every bird, unlocked all achievements, beaten all the secret/extra content. the cap on the recorded playtime of a save file is 99 hours 59 minutes and i hit that on my first save file a long time ago.
Summary: Bayonetta has a truly Japanese, odd plot. Angels with baby faces, portals to hell and overly tall sexual witches. I dunno. But despite that, the game is a lot of fun. The story is straightforward walking into the next area fighting minions followed by a boss. There are many homages to Sega's other games including of course Devil May Cry and Sonic. I consider it a button masher, since who the heck actually remembers all 100 combos?
Summary: If you did not like DMC or blatant sexual imagery, this game is not for you. Never before have I actually laughed out loud at a video game before. Smiled, yes. Laughed, no. This game is THE definition of over-the-top! It's so ridiculous and SO much fun to play. Yes, just like DMC, it can get repeatable with the button mashing, but the gameplay is so much fun that you hardly notice. I mean ..
Summary: From the moment you start Bayonetta until the point when the credits start to roll you will be bombarded by over the top action, cutscenes, enemies, and special attacks. You will also love every minute of it. As a fan of Devil May Cry I thought I knew what to expect, and in terms of combat they are very similar, but while Devil May Cry had some fairly crazy action and dialogue, Bayonetta surpasses it in every way.
Summary: Though I consider 2011 technically the start of the new decade, Bayonetta along with Darksiders has been branded the first games of the new decade, the rip-roaring start to what should be a fantastic year yet an unbelievably crowded first 4 months of 2010. Bayonetta, developed by Platinum Games who worked on Viewtiful Joe and Okami, have basically made what people want to describe as the "action genre evolved", the new standards to which the next Devil May Cry or God of...
Excerpt: A very fast paced and flashy game. Keeps you challenged and engaged through out. It does nothing new for the genre, but it is still a very solid addition to a nice list of hack'n'slash games out there.
Pros: Challenging, Engaging Story Line, Gameplay, Graphics, Great Sound
