Pick your path—be it as a rifleman, a steel-fisted tank commander, or ace fighter pilot. Play as a lone wolf or with your friends, coordinating to turn the tide of battle. Whatever you choose, in Battlefield™ 1943 , enjoy the thrill of a fully featured online shooter.
Despite the lack of game modes and a bare bones class system, Battlefield 1943 differs enough from the competition to make it a worthwhile alternative to the likes of CoD, Halo, Gears of War, Killzone 2, Resistance and the rest. Presumably EA will extend the game with premium map packs, but to keep gamers away from rival games it'll need to expand the backbone too. As it stands Battlefield 1943 is like an FPS starter kit, designed to get people playing without too many... Read more
When DICE and EA announced that they would be putting out a downloadable version of their famed Battlefield games out on current gen consoles and PCs in a game dubbed Battlefield 1943 , I couldn't help but become curious, especially after seeing it in preview videos. Now, I am not much of a first-person shooter player, much less online, but even so I tend to be an early adopter at times: It happened with Enemy Territory: Wolfenstein , Battlefield Vietnam , Battlefield... But those are ultimately minor niggles, and they're easily forgiven by Battlefield 1943's trump card - the $15 dollar asking price. Battlefield 1943 is proof that the increasing complexity found in some shooters gets in the way of the fun instead of enhancing it. Sure, the relative lack of content will likely turn off hardcore gamers, who will no doubt blitz through the maps in six-hour gaming sessions, pwning noobs left and right. The rest of us, however, will... Read more
There’s a fantastic balance between tactical gameplay and generic FPS gameplay, and the level of freedom really makes playing this title a whole lot of fun. Read more
I have a confession to make – this is my first Battlefield game. I never played 1942 or Vietnam or even Bad Company. It's not even that I'm averse to either FPS or competitive multiplayer (Team Fortress 2 and Halo 3 are two of my favorite 360 games of this generation). What does this mean to you? A unique perspective. Until I read about the changes (after playing the game) I had no idea that regenerating health and ammo were new additions to the series. I didn't even... Read more
I'll be the first to admit i'm a huge opponent to FPS's i find them pointless and very aggrivating in genera specially on the PC where you are guarenteed to have hackers and guys using exploits and poor sportsmanship. I played Battlefield 2 for almost 2 yrs through the good and the bad eventually giving it up alltogether when the hackers one the fight with PunkBuster, that and the lack of updates to maps and the game in general made it very monotonous. Since then i've... Read more
I've never had as many great gaming moments, and hours of entertainment from any other $15 game. So many ways to kill and be killed. I can't think of any arcade game with more bang for your buck. Read more
I got this game when it first came out and I loved it ever since. The game is a First Person Shooter and have two sides the American Marines and the Japanese Imperial Army. The game has only 3 maps which is kinda a minus but they are very fun and are huge which makes up for that. When you first start off there is an optional tutorial that can help you out if you have never played the game before. When you start a match you have to choose a class. The three classes you... EA will sell this game to someone under 13, but it will not work on XBOX Live. Their proposed solution was to ask me to lie about my child's age on XBOX Live. And to cover their irresponsibility they propose 2 websites on how to parent your child. Of course, they blame Microsoft rather than themselves. Of course, they refuse to refund my son's money. I'll never know if this game is any good, and I no longer care. Read more
We could argue with the 'Not Enough Content' under Cons, because the game is only an Arcade game for the xbox 360 so its not a typical DVD-disc which u would pay full price for. You have 4 maps to play around with and 3 classes to choose from. Sniper, Rifleman, and a Machine-gunner. (I know it dosent sound much but once you start playing, the addiction level rises quite fast). The graphics and sound effects really do look and sound fantastic too. I like how absolutely...
