See moreBatman: Arkham Asylum is an Xbox 360 game for avid fans of the well-known superhero. The background story in this game has been written by the renowned Batman author, Paul Dini. This game is developed by Rocksteady Studios and it is slated to be released in the summer of 2009. Much anticipation prior to its release, fans can look forward to realistic graphics and a different setting in this game. Nathan Whitman, an associate producer at Warner Bros.’ videogame division, is proud of the way Batman’s cape is coming along in the game Batman: Arkham Asylum. "We’ve got a guy working full-time on cape physics," Whitman says. “We expect Batman Arkham Asylum to not only be the biggest game of the summer but one of the stand-out games of the year,” Eidos’ head of UK marketing Jon Brooke told MCV. “It’s as close to perfect as we’ve ever come; it looks amazing, plays beautifully and has a rich twisting storyline with enormous replayability. I’m confident enough to say that it will set a new benchmark for licensed games and it’s going to establish itself as one of our best games ever.”
In this game, everything would be different from the previous Batman games. Like per say, the superhero’s mantle will not be that stable as it always is. In fact, it will animate and blend with everything that will be going on in this game. Various gameplay options are present so that, in this matter, there will be a higher level gaming with this game. Sources say that following this game, many games in the future will employ the same gameplay tactics. Characters present in this game so far have been notified as the Joker, Commissioner Gordon, Riddler, Harley Quinn (who’s said to look sexier than the usual) and a couple of not-so-famous characters such as Killer Croc and Blue Beetle are also featured. As for the action sequences, the Batman: Arkham Asylum includes two trademark fighting modes which are the FreeFlow™ and the Invisible Predator™. What the FreeFlow mode does is it allows Batman to punch its enemies to consciousness but not death. As for the Invisible Predator mode, it allows you as Batman to combat your enemies silently. Another unconfirmed mode is the investigation mode which is something like scrutinizing the current situation and knowing what and who you are about to deal with. The Croc mode helps to attack your enemies in silence and a little detective work is included as well. In this mode, you will be able to save people as well and by doing so; you will earn points and achievements.
See lessEidos Interactive invested into the right team. Rocksteady Studios damn-nearly astonished us with this one. We expected it to be a decent summer action game. In all fairness, we never expected it to be this much fun. Batman: Arkham Asylum outshines every game we've seen this year (so far). It's also solid Game of the Year material and has a strong potential as a new game license. Let's hope they don't milk it dry... what am I saying, of course they will. Read more
Batman: Arkham Asylum is one of the best examples in recent memory (competing with the likes of Red Faction: Guerrilla and Fallout 3 ) I've seen of a smart, entertaining, well-made action game. It looks incredible and plays even better, giving players a real feel for what it's like to be Batman. Whether it's grappling up an elevator shaft, zip-lining across a chasm or taking out the Joker's annoying joke teeth with a lazy flick of the Batarang, there are so many things... Read more
The game is an absolute blast to play and a real treat for Batman fans. This is the first game that really hits all the finer points. It nails the Batman look and feel, while also providing interesting, rewarding gameplay. With respect to Lego Batman (which is quite good), this is the definitive Dark Knight experience. To me, "Batman: Arkham Asylum" is the standout game of the year so far. It does that for a number of reasons. It has no real weakness- my criticisms are very minor, and it has strengths in all the right areas- graphics, gameplay and story. It’s also the first game for years to successfully blend more than two gameplay styles together. There’s platforming, action, and adventure elements, and they all just work. Read more
is without a doubt one of the best superhero games ever, and an absolute must for those looking for an atmospheric action game with high production values. If only all license games were this good! Read more
Batman Arkham Asylum Review Through the years we have attempted at placing ourselves in Batman’s boots and his hectic world and schedule, but most games have made you feel like you were playing a Super Nintendo version. In general without all the fancy slang, they were rubbish. Batman Begins the game simply was just a man in a cape, sneaking around at night climbing lots and lots of pipes and interrogating people. If it was given a more mature rating, it could easily... Read more
This game is one of the funnest games I've played. The graphics are incredible, the music is perfect, and the characters are acted to perfection. You really feel like you are in the world of Gotham. Though it would be nice to be able to go INTO Gotham instead of being limited to Arkham Island. Though this does not detract from the enjoyment of game play. The controls are intuitive and fluid. From fighting hordes of bad guys to grappling up to a ledge, or using Batman's... Read more
When it was announced in June 2009 that the release of Batman: Arkham Asylum would be delayed further, I worried that there were development problems that would make the game be highly anticipated yet highly disappointing. Indeed that has been the case for many video games. However, the extra time made for a game that is well worth the wait. The game is compelling and challenging. It is at times frustrating. Its enjoyability factor is high because it comes with a top... Read more

The game is Very well done. The story is very engaging, as its written by Batman writer Paul Dini, and Features the Voice Actors From The Batman Animated Series as Batman And Joker. The story involves Joker taking over Arkham, but I won't go much deeper than that, as you've probably already Played this game. The Gameplay is, Way better(IMO) than Most Super-hero games. Its pretty immersive and makes you actually FEEL like you the Dark Knight himself. The gameplay plays as a... Read more
