Awesome Collectors edition, but dumb game
21 May 2014
Summary: I got this collectors edition for 20$ and honestly I was really happy! All the free stuff that came with it and statue was awesome. In fact, in my mind the statue is what I paid for and the game was the bonus. The game has a ton of bugs in it, the story doesn't flow very well, and there was one time I had to reload a check point because I got stuck.
Summary: At release price, this review would have been 0/5. For $10, it is not that bad. Typical fps with nothing special going for it except that it has the Aliens license. I knew going into it that it had terrible reviews across the board, but for the price, the only thing that bothered me was the ending, or lack of one.
Alright For Fans Of The Movie Series But Hardly Spectacular For Gamers
20 January 2014
Summary: While I'll give the creators of the game kudos for half trying to give gamers a realistic style of being in the movie it hardly felt like it as more you were just trying to finish the game and see if there was anything that would makeup for the lackluster gameplay. The A.I. for alien and human enemies as well as allies was almost beyond pathetic during some fight levels, case in point you're fighting two enemy marines and with them being less then ten feet apart from each...
Summary: Really looked forward to receiving this game in the special edition packaging. Heard negative things about the game but have always been a fan of aliens since original movie. The toy inside is awesome. lot's of detail. The game was a little choppy but fun to play. Love the sound affects. (original from the movies) The cut scenes were pretty cool but but the game was a little repetitive. I would recommend the game if you got it for a good price.
Summary: I am a huge alien fan. This is an awesome package, the powerloader figure is awesome. Comes with a USMC patch too. But the game is just trash. I would give 1 star, but the packaging was awesome.
Summary: Some people are solely judging this game and giving it low ratings because of the lies they were told. The truth is, this game does not suck! Is is great? No, but it does not suck. If you can get past the lies that Randy Pitchford and Gearbox told and sold you, this game is actually entertaining. The A.I. leaves a lot to be desired though. Often the A.I. will let aliens run right past them and other times they just can't seem to kill an alien that is right in their face.
Summary: the game graphic wise is not good looks like a game from 2007 yet very new the game play is okay kind of smooth good transitions from weapon to weapon. slight npc glitchess from time to time if you are looking for an okay game this is it dont pay more than $20 for it though. IGN gave it a 4.5 i give it a 6.5 but graphics are not as important to me as most people.
Summary: I was pretty disappointed with this one after a bit of anticipation. The previews made it seem like we might finally be given a worthy Alien game and based on the fact Gearbox was taking it on gave me more hope after their recent successes with the Borderlands franchise... well I was wrong. The graphics and game play were my main gripe, seemingly amateurish and outdated.
Summary: I waited a long time for this game as Aliens is one of my favorite movies/franchises ever. All the hype leading up to the game looked impressive. Unfortunately the game has suffered from negative reviews especially on consoles. There are several graphical glitches and the movie sequences have bad lip synching. Story is not very impressive so far. The gameplay is ok but its not a fluid shooter like Battlefield or Blackops. Movement is kind of "stiff".
Conclusion: It looks and sounds great.... Until you start playing the game, its let down by a flawed engine and dodgy animations - the multiplayer has some fun elements to it but nothing that original, why oh why do we wait so long for these games to be constantly let down... Aliens is probably one of the best film franchises of all time and a timeless classic! There should be a law about creating sub standard content that fits in this universe!
