War is a pseudo reality in this XBOX game with the effects as realistic as it they can make it from the audio as well as visual effects of the artillery and aftermath including explosions, vapor trails, machine gun firing, artillery fire on anti aircrafts, as well as the giant columns of smoke to make the scenes more realistic. The gamer acts as the pilot of the aircraft over the locations of battle. Both enemies and allies combat each other in real time war scenarios. The players may opt to battle it out using several modes, including a death match game. They may also try to play together against the computer.
Review Summary
Ace Combat has come up with a new game, Fires of Liberation, which includes fantastic online play. The theme of the story is about a heartbroken mother, an enemy pilot, and other characters on their journeys of discovery and redemption. Ace Combat 6 takes place in a fictional world, with the Emmerian good guys represent the Western world, and the enemy from USSR-inspired Estovakia. The battles are fast and furious. Flying in Ace Combat 6 is a delight. Speed is controlled by the triggers. You can pick your choice from a variety of real aircraft, such as the F-22 Raptor and the Tornado. You are briefed on the operations before you go on a mission. Each mission features multiple operations, which make them more exciting and challenging as the difficulty level gradually increases. You can also retry missions with different aircrafts once you’ve unlocked them. The sound and the visual effects are fantastic. You will experience different environments, above cities and mountains, and through canyons and above the sea. Reviewers find Ace Combat 6 Fires of Liberation to be a great game featuring an absorbing experience in an arcade flight combat game, due to an even, stunning visuals and polished gameplay. You can earn medals and purchase aircraft and special weapons from points collected during missions, and also earn a good selection of Xbox Live achievement points. You will definitely want to play again and again and you can also save your game. No disappointment here!

If you’re looking for some of the best graphics that the Xbox 360 currently has to offer, Ace Combat 6 certainly ranks near the top along with it’s strong single and multi-player offerings. It may not be the flight simulator that many people may have been hoping for, but it doesn’t detract from being an enjoyable arcade shooter. Highly recommended. Read more

The Ace Combat series is one of the oldest and most revered franchises still around from the days of Sony’s original console offering, and for good reason. Over the past five iterations Namco has crafted one of the finest and most enjoyable flight games currently available on the market. Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation continues this trend of excellence, but for the first time in franchise history it does so on a completely different console. This brings the amazing... Read more

Namco is a name that has been around since the beginning. It has taken genres and platforms into its sweaty palm and sure enough, out have come some of the most fantastic titles we’ve ever seen – from Pac-Man to Tekken, and beyond. Read more

User Review by Scarpio
Reviewer: Scarpio, gametrailers.com6 days agoThe Ace combat series is great, i think that it is the only good aircraft game. Plus I love the fact that you can costomize your aircraft online and off. But this game does have its faults, most of the game is either shooting down bombers or getting caught in a tornado just spinning in circles until it becomes boring. But even with that it is still a really fun game. My favorite aircraft is the F-... Read more

Yeah though its a good game, high def and lots of pretty pictures there is on real ache in the game.... Can you guess what it is? That's right not even as many planes as are in ace combat 5 let alone zero. I think this is a major issue along with no ability on xbox live to set up "wings" or Squadrons or when online playing to assign yourself or others to wingman positions so you can protect your buddy. These for a 360 game would have seemed a must. I realise the lack ... Read more
