Not at all bad but at times not at all good

Malcolm Lawn, amazon.co.uk

  • Summary: I recommend you read E.C. Sterck's review here as that is closest to my feeling about Yager from those that came out nearer when it was released. I've just finished playing it for the first time having spent the last two weeks finishing the 22 missions (10 -12hrs) and then going back and redoing my favourite ones to get all mission stars. A VERY tough job in some cases.

Yager Review!!

DrivenUnd..., Ciao
18 June 2004
  • Excerpt: "...detailing the opening sections of Yager could easily make for an incredibly negative review. This is not due to technical issues, but because much of the game is initially so difficult to like. The cutscenes only serve to highlight a cliched plot while the characters are particularly dislikeable, especially that of the lead. Most importantly though, the game just fails to engage. Yager follows the story of Magnus Tide: a loose cannon, a freelancer ...
  • Pros: Engaging air to air combat, Enjoyable B - movie quality story, A ranking system ensures replay value
  • Cons: Heavy use of scripting, Stealth missions frustrate, No multiplayer

Yager

Malcolm Lawn, amazon.co.uk
23 May 2004
  • Summary: Being new to the X-Box, I have been searching for a decent flight sim, and with Yager I am still looking for one. The main fault with the sim is the lack of true speed. One feels when one is flying in Jet mode, that the ship is crawling along like a moped. Graphics are good, likewise sounds, but with no sensation of flight the game fails before it starts.

Yager

Bluemonke..., Ciao
10 May 2004
  • Excerpt: "Graphics The graphics in this game are amazing, most of the locales have so far been archipelagos, with beautiful water, dense foliage and a heck of a lot of hills. You can always tell what you're looking at, unless of course, it's in the distance. the fog in this game is a bit over the top, but it's a small price to pay for the solid frame rate and graphics. The Sagittarius (the ship you pilot) and all the other ships in the game are all quite ...
  • Pros: the macho attitude of your character can be unintentionally funny at times .
  • Cons: Earth Looks Funny

Yager; hidden gem or pile of ****

E. C. Sterck, amazon.co.uk
26 May 2003
  • Summary: I bought Yager on a bit of a whim with little advanced knowledge of the game. You play the part of a freelance pilot of a futuristic jet aircraft capable of hovering, as well as horizontal flight. Working for a large corporation you are sent out to combat pirates, other corporations and to fulfil other great deeds of valour. First impressions are a little disappointing, the game play at times is quite fiddly and the mission objectives can be somewhat ambiguous.

  • Cons: Difficile / Brutti filmati - musiche - controller

Man entwickelt deutsch

Brundel74, Ciao
6 June 2003
  • Pros: gute Grafik, guter Sound, gute Steuerung
  • Cons: Kämpfe frustrierend, wenig Handlungsmöglichkeiten, zu linear
