X-Men: The Official Game Review

IGN Entertainment
11 March 2010
  • Conclusion: X-Men fans are a hardcore crowd and it is inherently difficult to please them. There is very little in X-Men: The Official Game that feels like any different the hundreds of other button mashing titles before it. Nightcrawler and his teleportation attacks are a definite highlight, but the majority of the game is a mundane romp from Point A to Point B, with a number of unintelligent enemies blocking the way.

X-Men: The Official Game

Just RPG

  • Excerpt: As a big X-Men fan, I was really eager to give X-Men: The Official Game a try. The game offers fans a chance to see what happens before the movies, features vocal talents like Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman, and has a cool Mutant evolution system to upgrade your characters. Sounds promising, right?

  • Conclusion: Uninspired, repetitive game play with little new to add to the X-Men mythos, X-Men: The Official Game serves mostly as a loose lead in to the 3rd movie. Decent voiceovers, good boss levels, and play as Iceman serve as the hallmark moments of the game.

  • Excerpt: First, there's a lot to like about X-Men. The graphics are pretty good, though not necessarily great, and the voice acting is good for the most part. The animations are good, and the characters aren't just simple palette swaps. The game also does a good job (too good, perhaps, and I'll get to that later on) of differentiating the different play styles.

X-Men: The Official Game

GameCaptain
29 May 2006
  • Conclusion: X-Men: The Official Game bietet solide und unterhaltsame Actionkost.
