X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse

Just RPG
20 March 2006
  • Excerpt: X-Men Legends was easily one of the most enjoyable multiplayer RPGs to hit the consoles in quite some time. With the release of X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse , gamers have a lot to look forward to. With more playable characters, new abilities, gameplay enhancements, and much more, Rise of Apocalypse is a blast to play! As the commercials will tell you, “there is an evil so powerful that even evil fears it.

  • Excerpt: 2004's X-Men Legends was the mutant supergroups' first foray into the RPG medium. While they had been featured in plenty fighters and beat-em-ups with varying success, it wasn't really a sure bet that they'd do well in the new genre. The success of X-Men Legends was enough to warrant a revisit to the mutants in Raven Software's 2005 title X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse.
  • Pros: + More skills to choose from.
  • Cons: - It really is the same game without much innovation.

X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse Review

VideoGamer.com
7 March 2006
  • Excerpt: Raven Software, responsible for titles such as Hexen and Jedi Academy, have returned with another instalment in the X-Men Legends series. Their approach is a simple and effective one based on the mantra of " If it ain't broke, don't fix it ." According to their marketing people - who I have no reason to doubt - last year's X-Men Legends became the most successful X-Men game of all time.

X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse

Thunderbolt Games

  • Excerpt: Action games and role-playing games have been fused together almost endlessly since the release of Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance and they’ve appeared on almost every console under the sun (even the N-Gage). One of the most popular games to take the formula crafted by Baldur’s Gate and mix it up was last years X-Men Legends, which basically took Baldur’s Gates camera and gameplay and combined it with the X-Men characters and universe.

Game Over Online
24 October 2005
  • Excerpt: The second outing for Activision’s X-Men action RPG Legends has landed on store shelves with a bang as loud as one of Sabertooth’s unwelcome entrances. The blitz is in full swing and for the last few weeks it has been impossible to get through any thirty minute program without seeing a commercial with Patrick Steweart’s voiceover touting the game and its unorthodox alliances… but is it worth it?

The sequel places the X-Men and the Brotherhood of Evil on the same side, as they must stop Apocalypse and his Acolytes from destroying the world. X-Men Legends II Rise of Apocalypse - Review (Xbox)

Konsolen-World
25 March 2006
  • Conclusion: X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse ist ein würdiger Nachfolger.
