WWE Raw 2

The Armchair Empire
9 November 2003
  • Conclusion: so certain wrestler’s can come and interfere during the match or you can make it so there is no interference at all. Fiddling around with these options can be vital later on in your season because you can form alliances with other wrestlers depending on what has happened in past matches. The season mode also includes cut scenes, which show minor events unfolding, but the problem is that there is no audio or speech to accompany the cut scenes.

  • Excerpt: The spectacle that is pro-wrestling finds its way to the Xbox via WWE Raw 2. All the characters are here along with oodles of game options, but does this title deliver the whole package or go down for the count? Jeremy tells it like it is right here.

  • Excerpt: Screenshots don’t mean a damn thing. It always cracks me up when friends of mine or people on the message boards talk about how great a game is going to be solely based off of screenshots or two-minute videos of gameplay. Rarely do the games live up to the hype. and that was the story of “WWE Raw 2”. I remember seeing screenshots of “Raw” right around the release of the Xbox and being amazed at the game’s graphics.

WWE Raw 2

Thunderbolt Games
11 October 2003
  • Excerpt: The original WWF Raw was a disappointment. Sure, it was fun to gather up a room full of friends and beat the living daylights out of each other, but when it came to game mode variety, single player depth and even gameplay responsiveness, it was noticeably lacking. Spurred into action by the less than stellar reception Raw received from the gaming masses, THQ (the publisher) and Anchor Inc.

The Next Level

  • Excerpt: My initial reaction playing a match in Raw 2 was negative. As a fan of the genre, I have played many a stinker in hopes of finding that perfect gem: a wrestling game that is deep enough to appreciate as someone who's followed the "sport" and fun enough to play with friends late into the night. Raw 's gameplay, presentation, and feeling of authenticity all leave a lot to be desired - I could see that from almost the opening bell.
