  • Excerpt: "Prisoner of War" is an interesting, if not entirely successful attempt to replicate escape films like the recent "Hart's War". Players take on the role of Captain Lewis Stone, who is shot down with his co-pilot during a routine mission. When the captain lands, he's met by a patrol of German officers who throw him in a war camp.

  • Excerpt: Codemasters brings us a really innovative WWII-themed title. Prisoner of War puts you in the role of a downed American fighter pilot, and it ain't all Hogan's Heroes. You'll sneak around, infiltrate, steal and escape, but you won't fire a shot from a weapon. Plus, you'll learn derogatory terms for Germans you never knew existed. Click.
  • Pros: ups: Innovative gameplay; some nice visuals; strategic stealth; develops some nice tension.
  • Cons: downs: Cheesy cutscenes; some camera glitches; slow pace will turn off some gamers.

Prisoner of War

  • Excerpt: Long-time readers of this column will know how highly I value successful execution of innovation. It wasn't until the recent Super Mario Sunshine that I realized how long it'd been since I'd played a non-violent game. Few stages in our world's history are as violent as World War II, and though the Medal of Honor series of games deserves accolades, it's still a first-person shooting game.

Test : Prisoner of War

  • Pros: graphiquement incohérent, I.A. bâclée
  • Cons: concept novateur, maniabilité optimisée
