It's not in the (rugby) game
25 April 2004
Summary: After being praised as a follow on to Jonah Lomu, I was expectingsomething like Fifa 2004 but with a rugby theme, how disappointed wasI? The game has limited complexity, basic menu's and poor player AI; it lookslike a real rush job from the developers. Disappointing is the lack of real players in anything other than theEngland and Wales squads, tragic is the stilted commentary from StuartBarnes; though perhaps the ten standard phrases lagged out of sink withthe action do...
Summary: I was really hopeful of this being a great xbox sports title (god knows we need one) but it really isnt. The controls are fine, the graphics are fine, the commentary isnt bad but the gameplay..... Rubbish. Rent this out for a laugh, but dont buy. Like the reviewer below said, wait for the next one.
Summary: The playability and graphics seem to be a 1st generation game. Not what you expect from recent Xbox titles. No atmosphere at any of the stadiums and although the players look like the real ones they play like a local amature side. Worse still it seems that to short-cut development the ball moves in the air to the player (like a boom-er-ang) rather than the player reaching for it! Forget the game and wait for the next!
