Conclusion: When word about Unreal 2 coming to Xbox I was estatic. But upon renting and playing the game I was throughly dissappointed. Though Unreal 2 has its strong points, it had just as many let downs. One area that I was let down by was the graphical inconsitances of the game. The developers spent countless hours working hard on this game, developing some really stunning scenary and back drops that they seemed to rush the creation and animation of the enemies.
Conclusion: I got my copy of Unreal last week and couldn't wait to try it out. In the past I've played Quake, Doom, Wolfinstein, etc... I was really looking to capture some of that FPS quality of those games but with updated graphics and sound. Well I was a bit disappointed. Okay I was verrrry disappointed. The graphics are not nearly as good as Quake 3 Arena, and the sounds were not up to what I had expected from an XBOX Game. With all that you may think I didn't like the game.
Conclusion: I'll admit I was disappointed when I finally got this game home and played it after waiting months for it. The games feels like a different game due to the downgrading of everything from the graphics to the size of the levels to the open ended nature. The result is a poor port of the excellent PC game. The Multiplayer XMP mode is definetly fun, fast-paced and frantic which will excite those bored or disappointed with console translation of the single player game.
Conclusion: Great game but graphics are a bit muddy and needs work. Other then that a good game. I didnt play much of it at all because of time issues but what I did I was amazed and loved it! If I had more time I could put a better review up but if I am already this much into a game it has to be good ..come on! The textures need work and the frame rate on enemys are terrible and to make it worse they make the enemys move really fast!
Summary: I have played most FPS games, Quake 4, Doom 3, Halo and the best game I ever played with respect to Duke Nukem, was Unreal (the original) Unreal 2 didnt disappoint me. The levels are well constucted and baeutiful. The weapon arnt bad but could have done with better sound effects. The enemies again were ok although the cut scenes did get a bit of a pain by the end. Never the less its a very enjoyable game...
Summary: Being a subscriber to Xbox's online gaming service, LIVE, i bought this game with the main intention of playing it online, and if it had a good campaign mode it would simply be a bonus. However, when i put the game in and turned my xbox on, i could immediately see that thsi game was going to be a complete waste of money, due to the poor menu layout and simple lack of options when it came to playing on LIVE.
Summary: I was shocked from the second i encountered the first badly animated enemies in this game. What on earth have the developers been doing all this time! Even if this is a pc port, ud expect something to have been done, iv seen better animated megadrive games! Not only that, the weapons are described to sound good, but they just arent! none of them are particularly interesting, and they dont feel powerful enough.
Summary: I havnt given this game a terrible score, because generally its not a bad game, however. At parts it is boring, shooting the same old aliens and soldiers can get a bit repetative and tiring. You have a fairly good selection of weapons at your disposal, the Grenade Launcher, Assault Gun, Flamethrower etc etc.... The cutscences are good, bit too monotone here and there, but still good to watch. You have bosses at the end of a level, bit like Half-Life.
Summary: Right i just thought i would help you hardcore gamers out there by writing a review of thsi superb game. Being a a brill sequel to the first it matches up to its standards and also adds more gameplay to the xbox live gaming community which im sure when u get this game uyou wil never leave your xbox ever agen.
Summary: I was shocked at the other review for this product, as a 1 star rating does not do this game justice. For the record, there is the Unreal TOURNAMENT series, which is focused on fast-paced action and explosive special effects. Then there is the UNREAL series, which requires thought as opposed to reflexes. This does not, as the other reviewer suggests, make it a bad game.
