Summary: Unreal Championchip was looking to be a wicked awesome game in the previews of gaming mags I read. Its not really amazing though. I still think its a decent shooter. Its not as good as Halo(what is?), but it has some great features that Halo doesent have. You can play with bots on multiplayer maps, modes and levels. Playing with real people is still more enjoyable, but if non of your friends or over or you are a complete loser or hermit, you'll still like.
Summary: I just bought this game today... because I heard it was a very good shooter game. I already have Halo and Ghost Recon which are great. But unlike Halo and Ghost Recon this game has no story at all. The only reason to buy this game is for the multiplayer. I've heard it is one of the greatest Xbox Live games out there. I wouldn't doubt it, but I can't afford a cable modem. The single player that is on this game is basically training for multiplayer and Live.
Summary: Okay you'll buy Unreal and most probably bought it just to play online on Live. Well if you didn't you probably figure you got..... The single player is horrible most of the times your friendly bots and the enemy bots will just stand around or let you rip them with a machine gun and they don't even turn around. If the AI wasn't bad enough, you'll get bored quick with the games many framerate problems. If you start to shoot the game slows down.
Summary: I have Mechassault and Unreal Championship for XBL. I play MechAssault 90% more of the time because it's more interactive. Unreal is not as interative. I can blow up buildings and bolders, and cars in Mechassault, but I can only run around killing another player in this game. I like it for what it's worth, but not really worth my time to play. I wanted a shooter, and couldn't find Halo anywhere, so I opted for this, and plus it was Live enabled...but..
Summary: Unreal tournament is the benchmark of combat. The game is fantastic for people who want on-line games without the hassle of finding people or dealing with them. You get to include characters and fight them in any number of fights. Here are the problems with it though as oppossed to the computer version. It does not allow you to customize every computer character, its simply random chooses them.
Summary: I don't have a cable modem and cant afford cable but i thought this would be a cool buy nonetheless because it has first player and i assumed (keyword right there) that i could play it multiplayer with my friends. apparently thats not gonna happen cuz you can only have multiplayer with two xboxes or xbox live which blows massive amounts of man jiggle.
Summary: I usually never buy a game before I have rented it first. Even Halo I played at a friends house at before I bought it. I heard so many things about this game, like it vehicles, it was going to be 100x better than Halo, etc. This game was a flop. You have to have jedi reflexes to keep up, but you can always put the game speed at 75. But then if you go online you'll get stomped on. The rocket launcher explosions are TINY. There is lag in single player.
Summary: There are a select number of things that you absolutely must consider when puchasing this item or you may find yourself very dissapointed. Do you own Unreal Tournament 2003? If you do then you should avoid this title unless you specifically want to play against/with your friends on Xbox Live or you don't have the PC option. The PC counterpart of this game has graphics that are much prettier and higher end PC's won't have the framerate problems that bog this system down.
I've now actually purchased Unreal Championship fodr XBOX...

Summary: ...And it's great. Unreal Championship for the XBOX is just like UT2003 for the PC. Overall, graphics quality is decent, or at least the lightning effects are. But texture quality is amazing. Animation quality is OK. And the audio quailty is good. The game play is fun. Multiplayer is good, the only thing that bothers me about it is there is only system link support play and XBOX live support, no single TV multiple controller support.
you might want to check out unreal tournament 2003 instead..

Summary: Am I the first to realize that this is basically just a port of Unreal tournament 2003 to a console? They are the exact same game except Ut2K3 is for Pc and is cheaper, and Unreal Championship is for xbox, more, and you have to subscribe to xbox live. And, as with most PC games, UT2k3 is moddable, whereas UC isn't. And finally, it's harder to aim with a controller than with a mouse.
