Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 3: Night of the Quinkan Review
4 November 2005
Summary: Minor frustrations and inconsistency compound a game that's not very good in the first place, making it one of the least appealing platformer choices currently on the market.
Pros: It's an E-rated platformer that hasn't grown an "edge", There are a number of different modes, adding some variety to the package
Cons: The visuals give you little indication of what's actually going on, Minor frustrations, like the ridiculous precision requirements of the hook shot, There's little reason for item collection, The customizable boomerangs don't seem that different than the original one
Conclusion: In conclusion, if you are looking for the ultimate platformer out in the market, don’t look here. Ty 3 is an enjoyable, straightforward platformer suited to new gamers or for kids who are intrigued by Australiana. The game certainly has its charm and its moments, but if this series wants to continue, some dramatic changes will have to be made - as when it comes down to game play experience, like the class level of Ms. Hilton,Ty 3 is severely lacking.
