Excerpt: Turok: Evolution is a first-person shooter video game developed and published by Acclaim Entertainment. The game was released for the Nintendo GameCube, PlayStation 2 and Xbox in 2002. This game follows the character Tal' Set, a strong Native American warrior who is transported to the "Lost Land" whilst fighting Captain Tobias Bruckner of the United States Army.
Excerpt: The once proud Saquin Indian Nation has been nearly wiped out through countless battles with federal forces. Acting as one of the last of the Saquin Nation, Tal' Set and the few remaining braves attempt to retreat to the safety of Mexico. A renegade army, led by Captain Tobias Bruckner, ambush Tal' Set and his people, and a slaughter of Indian forces ensue. Tal' Set and Captain Bruckner engage in a fight to the death.
Excerpt: Turok on the n64 was a good game. It had a few sequels, some good, some bad. This is the attempt at a next gen turok from acclaim, and to say it's apoor one is an understatement. The gameplay is poor. Clunky unresponsive controls, a poor aiming system, and a bad weapon select system are the main culprits, but really not much is actually done right here. AI in enemies is non existent, so fighting soon becomes tiresome. Flying sections are nothng short of abysmal.
Pros: It's turok . You kill dinosaurs . Some fun guns .
Summary: This game is probably the worst game I have ever played on the Xbox. I really enjoyed Turok 2 on N64, so I was excited to pick this up. However this game has just nothing going for it. The graphics are awful, they really could have been so much better. There is no stroy line at all! It is just filled with killing for no reason. In an FPS game I feel story line is essential, on single player. Halo had a great one, as did Goldeneye on the 64 and others.
Excerpt: XboxTurok Evolution by Rockstar After playing about half the game my feelings are this. When they said “Don’t expect the next Halo” they weren’t joking. If Halo is at the top of the premier league then Turok is at the bottom of the second division. Graphically its nothing out of the ordinary, pretty typical of a PS2 FPS. The problem being that its out of GC and Xbox as well and doesn’t make use of the hardware on offer.
Summary: Bland graphics coupled with frustratingly slow, poor gameplay make this one of the most irritating games i have ever had the misfortune to play. I was lucky. A day before buying this game I played it at a friend's house and spared myself [the money] which would have otherwise been wasted.

Summary: I expected great things from this game and it pretty much failed to deliver on all fronts. The graphics looked dated, gameplay was frustrating rather than challenging and atmosphere was pretty much non-existent. The lush jungle environments I'd heard so much about, turned out to be little more than green vomit corridors offering no chance of exploration or doing anything other than following a fairly tightly defined path.
