Conclusion: Turok: Evolution isn’t necessarily a terrible game, but it surely isn’t a very good one either. Too many shortcomings on this title, and the feel of it being rushed out the door, really hold it back. The story is awful and not very engaging, and please don’t get me started on character dialogue.
Excerpt: Dinosaurs have always held their fair share of public interest. When the first dinosaur remains popped up around the start of the 20th century, humans were fascinated with them simply because it was not comprehendible at the time that there was once a species much more dominant than humans.
Excerpt: Let's get one thing straight: this game is all about insane action. In the intensity department, it ranks right up there with the Flood levels of Halo and the Serious Sam series. Gone are the days of Turok fighting on or two enemies at a time. In this game hordes of enemies are thrown in your path.
Excerpt: Evolution: a gradual process in which something changes into a different form. Thus Turok Evolution, a game published by Acclaim for all current systems, is not necessarily better than its predecessors — just different.
