Top of the class

  • Excerpt: Tennis, a sport that the greats are amazing at, the great matches amaze us, but to be honest, so few of us are actually any good at. Well for those like myself who's back-hand ends up on the rail way tracks (as in where the trains really go) and who's forehand smash usually results with my swan-diving the asphalt, Top Spin, is our friend.
  • Pros: Fun, easy to pick up, Multiplayer
  • Cons: a lil dated

Realistic Tennis

M. Royce "matroycem", amazon.co.uk
27 July 2006
  • Summary: I am a heavy gamer and a tennis player, so every time a tennis game is made i feel i have to try it. To be honest apart from Smash Court i have found them all very arcade-game like and no realism to the physics and feel to the game. Top Spin was a pleasant surprise. The graphics are not amazing but to be honest they dont need to be, how fluffy can a yellow ball be?? You start your career as a nobody, no skills, rubbish clothes etc.

The Tennis Bug

Mr. E. A. F. Powell, amazon.co.uk
29 April 2006
  • Summary: A fantastically enjoyable game. Will definitely be the prescription to a tennis bug. Very satisfying. Just not perfect yet. A 5 star game has to be one that you play everytime. You don't need any other games if you have a 5 star game.

Pick Up and Play Tennis

  • Excerpt: Top Spin is an excellent tennis game. The core gameplay is solid, although there is some dubious calls around the boundaries and the players sometimes seem to run off in the wrong direction from time to time. Essentially it is the usual sort of thing: an array of shot types, a variety of game types: tournament or exhibition, doubles and singles (although no mixed matches). However, there are two major additions: Xbox Live and Career Mode.
  • Pros: Long - lasting Career Mode, Create Your Own Player
  • Cons: Limited Selection of Pre - Made Players

  • Excerpt: The Dreamcast was a misunderstood machine at the best of times, with a whole host of gamers shunning Sega's little white box of delights. Presented with the evidence, though, few could argue that the humble DC played host to some genre-defining titles – not least Sega's own Virtua Tennis series. The visually astounding games played like a dream, with the Dreamcast incarnations being nigh on arcade perfect.
