Tony Hawk’s American Wasteland
21 June 2006
Summary: THAW may not be that hard no matter which way you cut it, but it is still as addictive as any Tony Hawk titles. You have the story mode and the classic mode to go through, and when you are done with that you can finally play on Xbox Live.
Conclusion: is right up there and definitely headed in a better direction than the way Underground went. There is nothing inherently wrong with the gameplay to keep it from getting a really high score. The trick system is solid, the online play is great, and the single player experience is good enough.
Excerpt: Tony Hawk's American Wasteland marks the third incarnation of the immensely popular series. Is it a worthy successor to THPS and THUG? Well, do BMX bikes and the French sport of freestyle walking, aka Le Parkour, turn you on? They should. And does a seamless recreation of Los Angeles help? It might.
Pros: ups: All of the greatness of the series, now with a seamless landscape, online play, co-op Classic Mode, and BMX!
Cons: downs: Some performance issues, story shortcomings, and no online park editor.
