Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 2 Reader Review - 9.3

Conclusion: I read the reviews for this game, and while they were high (upper sevens to eights), they weren't what I expected from a Tom Clancy game. But when I saw it for $20 at K-Mart, I knew it was a must-buy. I'll tell you now, I'd have gladly payed twice as much. In the single-player campaign you play as Scott Mitchell, leader of the Ghosts; an elite team of military personell that untill recently were a top secret subject.
Conclusion: This game is alot of fun over live. Altho it has a bit of a lackluster single player campaing you can play it over xbox live which makes it alot better and it gives it a more tactical feel. The games multiplayer is where all the action is at. Blending a addictive style of play, with tons of game modes and being able to tweak the gamemodes a bit makes the replay value just as great as Halo2's. The ranking system is a 1* 2* 3* 4* 5* system that gets you very into the game.
Conclusion: Although I know some people had a problem with the changes Ubisoft made from the old style of play, I'm not one of them. I'm an original Ghost Recon fan, and I know that the strategy of the game made it unique, but I don't think that GR2 loses any of its realism or strategy elements by making the gameplay simpler and adding a little more action. Besides the graphics, which look awesome, the first thing everybody notices is the over-the-shoulder view.
Conclusion: This is the first review I've ever written. Ghost Recon 2 took me by surprise. I've been a big SOCOM2 player, and as much as I loved my Xbox, I never expected there to be any other decent FPS on it other than the Halo series. Well, now I've got GR2, and it's way better than decent. It plays great, the gameplay is solid, graphics are way above average, sound is perfect...
Conclusion: This is the most realistic military shooter experience available on any system. All you SOCOM 2 (ps2) fanboys need to wake up and get an XBOX and this game. Even PC gamers will be impressed by the graphics and gameplay of GR2. You play as an elite soldier of the US military working with a team to prevent North Korea from gaining nuclear power. The single player game includes roughly 15 missions with ranging objectives.
Conclusion: This review is short and sweet. This game is simply excellent and I think that it would actually give Halo 2 and Half-Life 2 a run for their money for game of the year if more people liked it for what it was and didn't base their reviews on comparisons to such other titles as Halo 2. Sure Halo 2 is an excellent game but Ghost Recon shouldnt get the respect it deserves taken away simply because a ton of people are hardcore Halo fans and think every game should be the same...
Conclusion: well, it is finally here! I have been waiting fro GR2 to come out for months now and I was a little worried as to how the game would play with all the changes. After playing through most of the game in the last two days I have two works- ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!!! As I do not have Xbox Live(yet) any game I get has to be havea good campaign mode. GR2's blew me a way. It is nice to actually have to think through a game like this. I loved GR and GRIT with a vengeance.
Conclusion: Hello Ghost Recon 2! Wait, Rainbow Six 3...? Does Ghost Recon 2 offer the same play as the previous Ghost Recon games? In short, not at all. The game is more action packed, playing more like Raven Shield or Rainbow Six 3 rather than tactical, strategic gaming than the previous Ghost Recon games offered. Sure, I am comparing Ghost Recon 2 with the previous games in the series. However, would you rather have me compare it to Rainbow Six 3, because that's how it plays.
Conclusion: Ghost recon is set in not too far future and contains many wepons and tactics used today. The overall feel of the game is a little futuristic and a little difficult to master. Gameplay: The game is set mostly in asia and looks much like if you were in an asian country. i haven't fully played the game, I have just played a little with some friends.
Summary: I love this game, best game on the Xbox, but the squad AI is inconsistent, many a time, while under enemy fire, your men get shot to pieces, or you get shot, due to fact the squad are to busy counting the toes on their feet, rather than noticing that the enemy are right on top of them, I`d also like to use any weapon anytime, and hiding in wait, is a waste of time, it could be the darkest night, and the enemy have no NVG, but they`ll see you just as quick as you see them,...
