Thief: Deadly Shadows Review

IGN Entertainment
11 March 2010
  • Conclusion: It is hard to argue with the fact that the concept of a medieval stealth game is unique. There are times when the subject matter doesn’t quite measure up to the gameplay, and vice versa. Thief: Deadly Shadows, although a killer PC title, doesn’t seem to have the flair that makes for a strong console title. Think about the latest version of Splinter Cell; the devs knew adding a unique online component would add some much needed spice to the usual single-player sneak play.

Thief: Deadly Shadows

The Next Level
2 August 2004
  • Excerpt: Garrett the thief may be a little tougher than he was in previous installments, but using him to go on a killing spree just didn't feel right to me. Most of his enemies ranged from stupid to misguided to mentally ill, so I kept the bloodshed to a minimum and instead took delight in lifting their coin purses, snagging their silverware, and relieving them of their more valuable paintings.

Game Over Online

  • Excerpt: Players once again step into the silenced boots of Garrett, cynical ex-Keeper recruit and Master Thief. A loner by nature, Garrett prefers to rob from the rich and give to himself, reasoning that he is his own needy charity.
