Codename: Kids Next Door Review

IGN Entertainment
9 February 2008
  • Conclusion: The only appeal this children’s based title has is its content that is aimed at hardcore fans of the show. The weak platforming gameplay and story do nothing to bring in non-fans, and even repeated viewers of the program should think twice before trading the coin needed for this disk. The characters and content are truthful to the show, but the actual gameplay and overall experience do nothing for the series or platforming in general.

  • Conclusion: THE VERDICT: I've not gushed quite so openly about a game for some time, but the fact of the matter is that in spite of some easily overlooked annoyances, Hulk: Ultimate Destruction is a good game that *shock, gasp, horror* actually makes excellent use of the license.

  • Excerpt: As long as there have been game consoles, there have been superhero games. Gamers over a certain age may be able to recall a day when several blue and red blocks were enough to convince gamers they were controlling Superman on their Atari 2600. Those days are long gone and even when our beloved comic book heroes appear as they should in a game, it does not always translate into a wonderful gaming experience (Superman, once again, for the N64 is a perfect example of a...

  • Conclusion: Gobs of great game play, powers and moves that have to be seen to be believed, and a decent storyline combine to make The Hulk: Ultimate Destruction a very enjoyable experience.

  • Conclusion: provide the gamer with a sense of power at the trigger end of a gun. Hulk forgoes guns in favor of raw, in your face, toe-to-toe with a tank bestial power that is conveyed by fantastic sound design, monstrous amounts of environmental damage – most everything can be destroyed one way or another – and layer upon layer of brutish demonstrations of Hulk’s formidable roster of moves.

The Incredible Hulk - Ultimate Destruction

Gamecell
16 September 2005
  • Conclusion: The sound is very neat in Hulk: UD. One of my favorite things about the game is what the people on the ground scream and shout out while you're rampaging away, things like; "he's huge", "we're gonna need the army" and "see how you like this, Banner" . The music is good too, but whilst the Hulk is in full swing all you'll be hearing is the destruction of cars exploding because you've just smashed a mech into them with a lamp post!
  • Pros: -, the Hulk, Smash anything!, Smash it again!
  • Cons: Tough bosses (although some might say that’s a ‘best bit’), Gets samey after a while

  • Conclusion: Wieder einmal wird uns ein besserer Lizenztitel geboten, der sich zwar nicht sonderlich aus der Masse hervorhebt, dafür aber immer wieder für eine kurze Zerstörungsorgie gut ist.
