Terminator: Dawn of Fate Review

IGN Entertainment
11 March 2010
  • Conclusion: In a nutshell, fans of the films will definitely be able to enjoy some quality time blasting away the endos. Terminator: Dawn of Fate is a good effort that while playable, is ensconced in a mire of shortcomings. Casual gamers won’t find anything new here, and there really isn’t any compelling reason why they would pick this title up.

Terminator: Dawn of Fate

GamersHell.com
17 December 2002
  • Excerpt: Terminator is perhaps the very first movie that made actor Arnold Schwarzenegger and director James Cameron famous over night. Terminator 2: Judgment Day came a few years later and Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (or short T3), still in production and supposed to be out in 2003, is rumored to be the most expensive movie ever - of course featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger again.

Terminator Dawn of Fate

The Armchair Empire
11 November 2002
  • Conclusion: will lead the human resistance. Interesting story (if somewhat a little tired): check. There have been a few Terminator games but none have done justice to the license as DoF does. The details are sharp, recreating the post-nuclear L.A. (and other locales) and all the technological horrors one would expect (and that we catch an all-too-brief glimpse of in Terminator 2). This carries over to the cinematics – it’s like the lost prelude to the first Terminator movie.

  • Excerpt: Who cares what Arnie is doing these days, especially when you get to play your own action hero in Terminator: Dawn of Fate. The upside is that this title is really fun to look at -- great gameplay graphics and well-done cutscenes. The downside is that this title is really painful to play. Click here.

Terminator: Dawn of Fate

Gamebits
22 October 2002
  • Excerpt: Sequels seldom surpass the brilliance of the original work. However, there is a no more sterling example of an exception than Terminator 2. I have few hopes next year's T3 film will be its equal, and if Terminator: Dawn of Fate, an Xbox and PlayStation 2 game from Infogrames, is any indication, my fears are justified. [PS2 version reviewed here] Dawn of Fate is set in the bleak future of the year 2027, long after the nuclear holocaust known as Judgment Day.

Terminator: Dawn of Fate

areagames.de
7 February 2008
  • Conclusion: Wie jeder weiß, besitzen Filmversoftungen seit etlichen Jahren nicht gerade den besten Ruf.

  • Pros: Arnie´s Stimme, exklusive Filmszenen, Bonusspiele
