Tao Feng: Fist of the Lotus Reader Review - 5.5

Chosen Wannabee, IGN Entertainment
8 December 2006
  • Conclusion: This game is a relatively tedious fighting game with some extremely beautiful character modeling. The creators tried to add a somewhat unique way of pulling off fighting combinations using timed button presses but ultimately resulting in some unnecessary button mashing due to a relatively tough computer opponent that can counter most of your moves.

Tao Feng: Fist of the Lotus Reader Review - 7.0

44_caliber, IGN Entertainment

  • Conclusion: From the makers of Mortal Combat, Tao Feng Fist of the Lotus is a very simple fighting game. Fluent martial arts moves combinded with good graphics and sound which makes this a good beat em up game. The Storyline is very basic good vs evil with some interesting characters with good combinations and moves.

Just looking at this game makes my fingers hurt....

onetuffcowboy, epinions.com

  • Summary: Tao Feng: Fist of the Lotus sounded good on paper, but the Xbox isn't made of paper. Avoid at all costs.
  • Pros: Really nice graphics, a lot of the ideas implemented sound cool.
  • Cons: Controls are too clunky, no strategy is involved, little (if any) replay value.

  • Excerpt: "This is one of those fighting games that looks really good but fails to live up to the standards set my Mortal Kombat. It is not a totally dud game it is just that it offers nothing new and what it does do is done a lot better by others. Set in the future in China where two sects are locked in battle in an attempt to recover some ancient artefacts which have been broken into pieces. Each of the twelve fighters has one of the pieces and these are ...
