Stolen Review

GameSpot
1 June 2005
  • Excerpt: Stealth games are somewhat of an anomaly in the video game world. A game about hiding in shadows shouldn't be nearly as exciting as a game about dispatching hordes of enemies with high explosives, or cool-looking blade weapons. Somehow, though, when done well, stealth games can be every bit as intense and satisfying as a good shoot-'em-up. However, due to the nature of the genre, when done poorly, stealth games quickly become a lesson in tedium and frustration.
  • Pros: Fun minigames add variety to the gameplay, Interesting platforming challenges
  • Cons: Terrible graphics and bland environments, Weak characters and flimsy plot, Incompetent AI makes the game too easy, Combat system is laughable, Short game with no replay value

Stolen

The Armchair Empire
1 June 2005
  • Conclusion: No One Lives Forever, and a dozen other games with a flair for stealthiness already on the market. Luckily, Hip seems to be off to a good start, with a theme of, “Hey! Let’s allow people to steal stuff while they’re being all sneaky-like.” Keeping with this theme, the game focuses on pulling off heists, creeping into various locales, and making off with all sorts of priceless goodies.

Stolen
