Excerpt: In recent years, it seems that LucasArts has tried their hardest to augment the release of the movies with games that either bring the player into the world of the movies or tell another part of the story. Such is the case with Republic Commando . As a part of the clone soldier program, Jango Fett initiated a Commando program, where the clones were given advanced, team-based training for special missions.
Pros: Nice strategic elements, Excellent audio, Great looking graphics and level design, Online and multiplayer modes
Cons: Short story mode, AI is not always consistent
Excerpt: Something strange is going on here. Summary: The developers at LucasArts have produced
another outstanding Star Wars with the release of Republic Commando for the Xbox.
This tactical shooter places you in command of an elite group of Clone Troopers
as you lead them battle through a variety of environments and face an onslaught
of enemies. During each mission, you control the actions of your 3 other
comrades and perform a variety of operations ranging from combat to explosives
detonation and more.
Excerpt: Unlike a majority of the cannon fodder scattered throughout the original trilogy, players step into the boots of Delta-38, nicknamed Boss. Delta-38 is a commando, a highly trained clone warrior whose exceptional skills make him and his four-man squad stand out from the rest of his brethren. While they’re sometimes referred to as deluxe models by the other clones, the simple fact is that the Delta Squad is dispatched to take on jobs the other clones simply can’t handle.
Conclusion: Republic Commando continues the recent trend of good Star Wars games and although it’s quickly completed you’ll enjoy every minute of it. If you love Star Wars and like FPS games then you’ll love it. Highly Recommended.
