Star Wars: Obi-Wan on xbox, a good old hack-n-slash game.

  • Excerpt: In this game you play as Obi Wan Kenobi, a pivotal figure in the Star Wars saga (as if you did not already know) and the game is set when you are learning just what it means means to be a Jedi. The game is set around the era of Episode One yet is a separate story from that shown in the film. Initially you are sent on a mission, which seems straightforward enough however this forms the beginning of a quest.
  • Pros: it is a star wars title, good fun in parts .
  • Cons: only one camera view and a bit short .

It's essentially Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace 1.5

  • Summary: Okay I have to admit that, upon reading reviews in magazines such as Gamesmaster, that Obi Wan was only average that my expectations weren't high. However I decided to buy it after remembering about what I felt the Phantom Menace was like on Playstation and also that you get to just play my favourite character Obi Wan (title sums it up lol) and what it would look like with an Xbox graphical makeover. What can I say the end result is.

  • Excerpt: This is an awesome game that bring you right into the Star Wars universe. It allows you as a star wars fan to do what you alwyas wanted to do. You get to wing a lightsaber around and jump using the force and do all the cool Star warsy flips and stuff. It has great game play that is great and still easy to use. You get to run around as Obi Wan Kenobi and dissover the events preceding Star Wars Episode 1.
  • Pros: Great and Easy To Play
  • Cons: none that I can think of

All you need is your light sabre!

  • Excerpt: This is one of my favourite games because it was one of the first games that I played when I first got an Xbox and secondly, I'm a big Star Wars fan. With lots of great sound effects, and music from the film, the game requires you to guide young Obi-Wan through various levels and uncover a plot devised by the mysterious Black Heth. Armed with only a light sabre, you must defeat enemies and protect innocents where possible along the way.
  • Pros: There is plenty of action, no dull moment at all .
  • Cons: The two - player mode gets boring quite quickly .

  • Excerpt: Star Wars games have traditionally not done particularly well. There have been a couple of minor exceptions but we’re going back some time. In recent years things have picked up slightly with Force Commander on the PC allowing gamers to play Age Of Empires with the Star Wars vibe. Lucas Arts don’t seem to take things lying down though as there are currently quite a selection of Star Wars titles available across the various gaming platforms to try and satisfy the Fans’...

Obi-Wan: A credit to the Xbox

JW (spikedguitar@hotmail.com), amazon.co.uk
28 May 2002
  • Summary: Those looking for an alternative to Halo, with the same stunning graphics and equally stunning gameplay, will not find that alternative here. The voice acting is generally bad, with the incredibly amusing Scottish accent given to Obi-Wan himself and the bad mouth movements, although that does not play an important part in the game.

obi wannabe

garethd1@tinyworld.co.uk, amazon.co.uk
2 April 2002
  • Summary: Any star wars fan would sell their granny to weild a light sabre and put the world to rights. Unfortunately this experience doesn't quite carry what is a pretty tame game. The method of controlling your light sabre is almost good enough to make up for the shortcomings of this game, however the novelty of this soon wears thin, and you start to notice the poor character detail and the bland level design.
