Conclusion: Star Trek: Armada and Armada II are actually halfway decent RTS games. They play just like any other space RTS and you also get to control Romulans, Klingons and the Borg (with Picard as Locutus) at one point. They get a bit repetetive at points but that’s nothing new in an RTS. Also, The Elite Force series was well made. FPS games are always easy to pull off but it was actually fun to play which is a plus.
Conclusion: Why the hell can’t anyone make a close to decent Trek game? Honestly, has there ever been one that is good? I can’t really think of any off the top of my head. With a universe as large as Treks, I think it is a shame that they can’t come up with SOMETHING, other than the shit box Tony reviewed. If anyone ever made a good RTS game based off trek…just thinking about it gives me the jitters.
Summary: An interesting idea for a Star Trek game and the thought of having huge fighter battles while weaving through massive cruisers sounds quite appealing, especially to Star Trek fans, however the reality is altogether a different matter. The makers of the game probably created it over a few coffee breaks judging by how much effort went into it.
Summary: A bit of a disappointment for sure,Biggest downfall some missions are brutally hard, you take a 25 mins pounding from the Imperials, the klingons, misc baddies, then just when you think thank-god, I survived, the Orion show up,BOOM! Start right from the begining, very annoying. Anyone who can get though this game on the harder levels, without snapping the disk or having a pyschotic episode deserves a medal period. If Excelsior would somewhat defend herself it would help.
