Conclusion: If you’re an extreme sports fan, you owe it to yourself to check out SSX 3. This game has exceeded my expectations far beyond my belief. The sheer amount of depth put into the single player experience is quality gaming you just can’t find in many other titles in today’s sports genre. There really is not much one can complain about with SSX 3, but like always, Xbox Live is the one ingredient that has been left out of this masterpiece.
Conclusion: Having never played the first two SSX games, this one feels very fresh compared to the other extreme games on the market. From reading about the first two, I can tell you that this one has added quite a bit, and makes it sound purchase for owners of the SSX or SSX Tricky. There is more than enough here to keep players busy for hours trying to unlock all the goodies, and even well beyond as you try and up you best scores in each event.
Excerpt: As a lot of you know that the PS2 didn’t have a whole lot of really good games at its release, but it had a few – and SSX was one of them. This unlikely hit became the reason a lot of people needed to make the investment, simply because it was a lot of fun. SSX Tricky surprised a lot of people since it took snowboarding way over the top.
Conclusion: SSX 3 is a ‘must get’ game if you loved SSX Tricky. Everything has been enhanced and improved upon to such an extent that it’s amazing that it’s only been one year since the last game came out. Ill just mention one last time that at first I found the controls hard to get used to at first but it does eventually happen and don’t be put off by this.
Pros: + absolutely loads to do and unlock, + awesome half pipe action!, + great tracks, + pumping soundtrack, + heaps of moves and the Uber tricks are cool, +, +, Reviewed by Shane Bryan
Cons: - only split screen multiplayer, - the controls can feel fiddly and may take a while to get used to, - no one will probably ever unlock everything in this one!, -
