Summary: This is a great game, it has a great story, good single player mode but most importantly it was unlike no other game back then. All the new Soul Calibur games arent quiet like this one, SC 2 had the best voices, the biggest Astaroth, Nightmare was more badass, plus Spawn was the best speacial guest character too.
Conclusion: Soul Calibur for the Dreamcast was considered to be a classic to this day. With brilliant graphics, an insane amount of extra modes, and promising gameplay, it was no surprise that it garnered the attention it did. This might be why Namco both released a sequel and put it on all three consoles. Soul Calibur was better than its prequel, Soul Blade, by leaps and bounds so it was a little tough to expect that same kind of jump with the sequel.
