Conclusion: I believe that it is a smart marketing technique to make series-based games like Road Rage familiar to the casual watcher of the show. This is why I went in to this game with a general idea of what I was going to expect. On the surface, EA met my expectations as far as the look and feel of Springfield and the city dynamics of a Simpsons episode. However, as I played, I felt that the game was missing depth and dynamics that keep the player on their toes and interested.
Excerpt: The Simpsons. Like them or not, you’ve got to love them. It’s just that simple. I mean seriously, who can’t appreciate the dysfunctional Flintstones? Since the dawn of the Simpsons, in a time when the world was still in darkness, they have been popular. So popular in fact that they were featured in numerous video games, only a few of them being good at all.
Excerpt: Simpsons Road Rage review Game Over Online - http://www.game-over.com Despite the animated television series’ widespread popularity, the Simpsons have never really made a smooth transition to the small screen of video gaming. Hoping that trend would come to an end, I was optimistic when Simpsons Road Rage was announced. But that optimism quickly turned to scepticism when the game was released to mixed reviews on the PlayStation 2.
