Summary: Silent hill 4 the room was an enjoyable experience for the most part the atmosphere tension and horror aspect are there but in small doses the ghost enemy is not scary but just irritating. Having to keep going back to the apartment every time to save and put items in the chest is very irritating but despite all this I would still recommend this game for the very good story line
Excerpt: Silent Hill 4, was, and still is my favourite video game to date. It reminded me so much of those Japanese games where you had to escape from a room by moving things and using your initiative. Story (No Spoilers) The story starts off simple enough, you play as Henry Townsend who recently suffers from severe headaches and intense nightmares. His phone is cut, neighbours can’t hear his cries for help, and the windows and doors are sealed shut.
Excerpt: Silent Hill 4: The Room, begins with one of the best premises in gaming history. No, a princess hasn't been kidnapped, an evil sorcerer hasn't taken over the world. No, Henry Townsend, the character that you play, is trapped in his flat. He's not agoraphobic or anything - if he could get out he'd probably be the pub or something. No, it's wierder than that.
Pros: Scary, fun to play . . .
Cons: . . right up until the halfway mark when it goes right downhill .
Excerpt: For a series that you come to expect great things from, theres always that thing where developers seem to take there foot of the gas and mess with things that are not broken...for those that have played the third instalment will know that it was almost perfect,so when number four was anounced with its first person mode, expectations were high and rightly so...BUT thats where it fails quite bad. gameplay..
Pros: very atmospheric, great graphics and terrific audio .
