List All 1 PricesWe as gamers have a lot to thank Rockstar games for. If it hasn’t yet occurred to you, Rockstar is the company that single handedly broke the barriers of what was acceptable for a mature rated game. While credit should be given to such titles as Night Trap (Sega CD) and Mortal Kombat, it was Grand Theft Auto III that brought the freedom of game expression to its height. It has garnered protests, lawsuits and of course praise. Read more
The main theme music by Ennio Morricone is instantly recognisable - no wonder, when you realize that he wrote the music for movies like A Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly to name but a few. There are some real Western-sounding tunes and even a player-piano in the Saloon - the canyon level music sounds an awful lot like it should have been in a Star Wars movie though… Read more
You begin play as Red, still a young cowpoke of about 13. Your father has just returned from his claim and informed you and your mother that you are now rich because of a huge vein of gold he and his partner struck. Soon, though, this joyous reunion turns to tragedy as bandits attack your home and end up killing your ma and pa, but not before you are able to blow the heads off of a bunch of them and shoot the arm of the leader of the bandits off. Red Dead Revolver review Game Over Online - http://www.game-over.com Video games are in a rut. Sure, graphics, sound, game play and story are getting better, but how about some diversity when it comes to subject matter? On computers and consoles there are thousands of games to choose from, but the fact remains; if you’re not interested in war, sports, science fiction or fantasy, your choices are greatly reduced. Clich’s. I love ‘em. From the train chase to the saloon fight, the busty hostages to the showdown outside the run down bank, spaghetti westerns wouldn’t be the same without the scenarios that keep TV from being a complete loss on a wet and rainy Sunday afternoon. Rockstar Games know this, and the company that is primarily associated with the multi-multi-multi-million selling Grand Theft Auto series have put a fair bit of stock and John Wayne, Clint Eastwood and the... It's been a long, hard road for Red Dead Revolver . Starting life as a game in Capcom's stables, it was headed for the glue factory before Rockstar came along and gave it a second chance. With all the ups and downs on its way to retail, it became a real underdog of the industry, with scores of people wanting to see it overcome the odds and succeed. Read more
"Annie! Get your gun!" I'm not kidding either! It's in the game. Not that exact quote, but there is a cute little blonde cowgirl wielding a rifle named "Faith" that hooks up with Red, the tragic hero of this Rockstar western, as he sets out on his mission of revenge. They've taken every cliché western theme you can think of from John Wayne to that cheesy musical, and spit-balled it into this cinematic, shoot-em-up game that will knock your socks off. Read more
In the end, it's a little disappointing that there's so much going on around you in Red Dead Revolver. Seeing this colorful, realistic world makes you want to explore it and soak up the Old West vibe. I would almost say the game might have worked better as (sigh) a GTA clone. At least then Red would've had free reign. Instead he's trapped in a world more interesting than his game. Read more

One of RDR’s real highlights is the slick duel system that kicks for those really dramatic gunfights. Flicking the right stick draws your weapon then time drips by as you try to get a critical hit on your opponent. Maybe less tense (but still satisfying), is entering Red’s “dead eye” mode, which can be activated after you’ve dropped a number of enemies. “Dead eye” is essentially a translation of Max Payne’s bullet-time mechanic. I bought this game with the intention of getting to know the storyline before Red Dead Redemption. I wish that I had further reviewed this game and how it plays on the 360. I was sorely dissapointed to find out after it continually locked up on me that it has compatibility issues with the 360. I was able to play the first 11 chapters and that was it. Locks up every time after that and makes the game unplayable. I love the way this game plays and I enjoy the storyline. Read more

Red Dead Revolver is brought to you by Rockstar Games - the producers of the Grand Theft Auto series of games and cost me £15.97 for a pre-owned copy from Game.
