Summary: Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3 redefines the series brilliantly, emphasizing action
while still offering the depth and realism fans of the series have come to
expect. The streamlined play eschews the planning phase and streamlines the
control interface to make a far more accessible and playable game. However, the
missions themselves offer sophisticated designs with multiple objectives.

Excerpt: Tom Clancy games have been gold for the Xbox. While other titles have come and gone, Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon and Island Thunder still hold spots in my regular gaming rotation; that was until Rainbow Six 3 infiltrated my home. Suffice to say, it’s been keeping my Xbox toasty warm these many cold winter nights. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six 3 is a squad-based tactical shooter set in the year 2007.
Conclusion: which requires more stealth and gunfights in confined spaces with hostage’s lives at risk in a gameplay style closer to Splinter Cell than the Ghost Recon titles. Although this is the same type of squad-based tactical shooter in its single-player game as the Ghost Recon titles, how you issue commands to your squad has been revamped for the better in a few different ways.
Conclusion: THE VERDICT: Rainbow Six 3 caters to a wider audience than previous installments, mainly because it provides you with a more personal, action-based experience and doesn't eliminate the strategic angle. Multi-player or single-player, RS 3 should deliver on all counts. It's not perfect, but it's certainly one of the best games you can currently purchase. Technically sound and creatively designed, this one is not just worth playing; it's worth owning.
Excerpt: There's no negotiating with terrorists in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3. As an elite counterterrorist operative, you and your team will be called upon to settle highly sensitive situations with decisive force. Armed with your choice of the world's deadliest firearms, you'll neutralize the enemy and rescue any hostages, then leave without a trace.
Conclusion: Rainbow 6 is almost a great game. I much prefer it to other FPS games I have played on the Xbox and also find it to have the best experience online of all the games I have yet played on Live. The game however is not perfect. It has a glitch and a bug or two, but the biggest problem I have is that of not being able to equip the entire team yourself, I also feel it would be an idea to be able to change to another team member and also split the team up a little more.
Pros: Mostly clever AI., Nice graphics., Realism and atmosphere by the truckload.
Cons: Unable to equip or individually control or order team, there should have been room for more tactics., R63 has a couple of slightly buggy levels.
